It really irritates me that just because they can "see" my vapor that it is unacceptable. I think restaurants need to ban perfume! If they think vaping is a problem because you can "see" the vapor but you cannot see the perfume vapor does not mean it is not there. I have Fibromyalgia which makes me sensitive to loud smells and I have come across some people who think they have to bathe in their perfume or cologne. There was even one time in a restaurant that I could not finish my food because it tasted like the perfume that was polluting the air.

I got the talk today from the boss... he didn't know how to react to it, so he asked HR... they said treat them like regular analogs, so I will now have to leave my desk, go downstairs, and outside a couple times a day to partake... oh well... I guess it's safer for the rest if I am not at my desk all day.

If I didn't know what a mod was, I'd assume it is drug paraphernalia. Discretion goes a long way. My largest rig is a Triton VV. I don't use it in public, other than in my car. Out and about, I use a 400mAh with a carto on it. Sure it isn't as good as a VV with a tank, but I didn't trade one addiction for another. I can either be discrete or wait. If I can't, then maybe I'd have to rethink vaping.

If you think that vaping restrictions won't eventually be rubber stamped with the exact same restrictions as smoking, you are just fooling yourself. There is only one group of people who are even remotely interested in how harmless they are ...vapers. I promise you, everyone else just considers it another form of 'smoking'.

I'm actually fine with that. I didn't quit smoking just so I could get a nic fix anywhere and everywhere.

Airplanes.

I would have to say that's not necessarily accurate, based upon the last 8 flights I took. :) Do I blow massive plumes out of a 18650 mod on the flight, no...but I did stealth for the entire length of every flight I've been on since I started vaping in March of 2012.

Just because you CAN do something doesn't mean you should. I'm very much pro-vaping, but at the same time, common courtesy people.. I'll happily vape 50/50 walking down the street, in someone's home, etc, and I've never heard a complaint, but I'd never even think of doing it in a restaurant, library, movie theater, etc. Treat it like the olden days when people smoked most places if you must, but seriously, if someone asks you to 'put it out' or otherwise stop, just do it..no need to lecture them on what an ecig is, it's not going to change most people's minds anyhow, maybe if you're at a bar and they ask you to stop 'smoking' it might work, but most places..not so much, they're going to be even more annoyed that you got pedantic about it and still tell you to stop.

I'm not sure a war against ignorance is winnable, but it'll be interesting to try. :)

It is winnable, but it takes time. Just look at the change of attitude in the U.S. concerning the LGBT community and same sex marriage. Ten years ago, nobody would have predicted the fairly recent change in public opinion on that subject, but it's very evident today.

I wonder if I'm the only vaper here who actually believes it is rude to vape in enclosed public places when you are close to other people. I don't think most people appreciate clouds of anything coming their way whether it is harmless or not. Not trying to pick a fight or start a debate, just stating an opinion.

I agree that one should be considerate of others when in public places, regardless of the activity. When smoking was allowed in bars, I always blew my smoke down toward the floor or straight up and away from anyone in the immediate area. When vaping I tend to do the same thing, but now I also have the option of holding it in a bit longer and not blowing out clouds.
