My Hangsen flavors came in today. No leaks - everything is sealed good. I've only tried the vanilla and the highway so far and both are good. I was surprised at how good the highway is shake and vape. I'll have to mix another batch and let it steep for a while because this 5ml I made isn't going to last long at all lol.

Hey JD, my favorite was PDK (pre-diketone knowledge), so usage has changed. Post-PDK I have the following vanillas:
Bourbon, FA and TFA
Swirl, TFA
Tahity, FA
Classic, FA
Vanillin, TFA
French, TFA
Vanilla Classic likely gets the heaviest work out but I mix with all of these -- mostly with tobaccos. Sad to say my HG Vanilla went in a box labeled "suspicious/untested". Though other flavors have been lonely, I have been on 5-6 month tobacco kick.

I've been poking around in this thread some today and ran across this post from occultangle.
That reminded me of the troubles I was having with my first order of Hangsen. I posted this in the 'Just tobacco' thread.
Comparing to cigarette butts in water is more accurate, wish I had thought of that lol. Anyways, I also think the inconsistency is from the manufactures. If the machines don't get flushed good once they change flavors, who knows what the first few bottles coming through will taste like.
Anyways, that was then, this in now and so far I'm really enjoying the Highway at 4%, nothing else added.

I don't know how I forgot about Churchill, one of my favorites.
It was my first vape, my first hs, and got me off cigs instantly... I have been out of flavor but pulled out what i have left in my last bottle that's been sitting for over a month. Man it is good. I think it jumps to number 2 or three for me.
It has a really good taste imo. Great TH and its smooth at the same time.... Hangsen says it a tea flavor. I never could pin the flavor to that but its good. The tobacco comes through ahead of the background notes.
Note on the G&S, hangsen says a cherry cream flavor.... I get more of a prune taste imo... its down to number 5 or 6 ... I can not vape it for a whole day. It starts to get to me but its good for a few hours.

These percentages are based on rayon wick. Your percentage may vary slightly due to setup. I would expect possibly 25% more flavoring for regular rbas & wicks. Possibly up to 50% more for clearos.

Nice list and good choices. And definitely agree on the Churchill. It a smooth and fairly mild tobacco -- and just snuck up on me. Didn't realize how much I was liking until I had polished off 45ml over ~30 days. Where did you find the Hangsen flavor profile? I have a list with some, but many are missing.
Curious to hear other opinions on the cohiba. I spent a week vaping straight up and mixed with Seven Wolves. Since appears that we have similar tastes you might also enjoy Fortune Strike; a moderately strong tobacco modeled on Lucky Strike.
And JD, actually all three FA vanillas (Classic, Tahiti, and Bourbon) are quite good -- with different flavor profiles. If it doesn't blow your vape budget, not a bad idea to pick up all three.

The magic mix is the same as furtune strike... they have 2-3 different names lots of times depending on the country. Theaster list can help decifer the different names when they mean the same thing.
Oh I said cohiba but meant Cuban. I took the co out of my cart at RTS and BH doesn't carry it. I may throw cigar in... Samples are .69¢.

I'm in search of Hangsen "Essence" RY4. I have only a small amount left, so I want to get more before it's gone. It seems all the American diy carriers of Hangsen RY4 are out of stock or I just haven't hit the right one. I tried TFA RY4 as a sub for the recipe I use the Hangsen for and it was not really close. It missed the kind of nutty-ish flavor Hangsen has. It's ok and I'll vape it, but I miss the Hangsen. I've gone back and added some AP to my recipe, improved. Then I added about 20 drops of my almost empty bottle of Hangen "Essence" RY4. Improved, but still not there. I've add another 20 drops and I'll check it out on the next re-fill of my REO.
I actually use mostly TFA flavors, so maybe you know of a TFA flavor that has the Hangen RY4 flavor ??

A lot of us like the TFA RY4 Double but I don't think it's anything like the Hangsen RY4. If you don't already have them, I'd suggest picking up some vanilla, caramel, and at least a couple of nut flavors (almond, hazelnut, peanut, etc) to experiment with making your own RY4 type recipe. Then you can also experiment with bumping up a flavor in your RY4 flavors, for example, if you had some almond to add to what you have now, it might get it more to your liking.
OK, I do have almond, and I used it with my first Hangsen Essense RY4 recipe. I'll pick up some TFA brand RY4 DBL next time and see if I like it better then reg RY4. I'll see how the newest doctoring did and maybe add some almond to this current batch. This current batch has French vanilla, Bavarian cream, and caramel, but that was before I added the AP and (now) a bunch of Hangsen Essence RY4. But the recipe did call for RY4 DBL. which like I said I don't have so used reg.

I don't know much about vanilla in diy but I was sent a free sample of tfa Vanilla Bean and I have to admit it tastes very good. Too bad I can't vape any non tobacco flavor, i wish I could, problem is after a while vaping them I just want to put them far away. But the first impressions of the Vanilla Bean were good. i mean i liked flavor, but maybe you and the others that know vanillas won't like it, or maybe yes? It is always another option, I'd say.

You were the first person who helped me with Hangsen flavor concentrates. Do you know if this Hangsen RY4 is the same as Hangsen Essence RY4 ?Haha, I see that printed several place -- I have both. I would have told you Magic Mix had a fruity finish while Fortune Strike was more straight up tobacco. Shows the power of suggestion. Though in fairness did try them several weeks apart; will try side-by-side after rewicking. Do you have a link to the "Theaster list"? I didn't turn up with a search.

As far as I know all hangsen tobacco flavors are made with real tobacco essence. Some venders append "Essense" to there descriptions and some don't. You won't go wrong with hangsen from RTS. It's where I get most of my hangsen from.

I pulled out the red USA today after not vaping it for a while. Its better than I remembered, good TH. It seems it does need a month the steep for me. I was turned off to it, I think, vaping it too early.
Sounds good already lol. I never made a RY4 type I didn't like at least a little bit.
Which recipe were you trying to follow? There's a few in the 'My Tribecca "clone"' thread in case you haven't seen them.
