Hi guys,

Angel Dual 18650 Mechanical Box Mod Silver

This dual parallel box is a first, a first for me, never used a dual box before, but also I believe a first for angelcigs since this is not a clone but an authentic design of their own.
Now, this box is NOT for beginners, it is a dual parallel box entirely mechanical, it is your job to be smart and safe, the box won't do it for you. Consider this box only if you are familiar with ohm's law, battery safety and builds. As a rule of thumb, the batteries used in a dual box should be of the same capacity and charged and discharged at the same time, to make it easy, best practice is to purchase 2 of the same batteries and "marry" them specifically for a dual box use, using and charging them at the same time. the use of a voltmeter is also strongly recommended to monitor the batteries.
alright, now that this is out of the way, let's have a look at the box, in the sunset, in the snow .... :)confused:)

DESIGN

100% mech. this mod is a block of aluminium alloy with 2 batterie sized holes, one top cap, one bottom cap, mech spring loaded firing button

Button is on the top, spring loaded, no locking mechanism, when depressed the button makes contact with the batteries circuit. the button itself is linked to the 510, circuit closed, fire in the hole. difficult to come up with simpler connections

The bottom cap gives you access to the batteries and is screwed on the box consists of 2 contacts (adjustable screws) and a vent hole. Again, simpler than simple.

Now this bottom cap I feel is the weakest link in this box, the adjustable contact screws are exactly the right size on the battery side to insure a full contact, but on the adjustable side, they could be bigger, their little size is not the most convenient design, and you will have to adjust the rattle pretty much every time you swap batteries (but again, you won't have to swap batteries that often, that's the beauty of the parallel build)

One could argue as well that a screwed battery door is not the most convenient design, but I feel it has a purpose here, the access being on the bottom of the box, the battery door being as small as it could be, I feel there is no chances of a door failure with the screws, i don't think magnets would have done the job in the long run.

so, adjust the 510 to make a good connection with your atty, slide your batteries in, screw the door, adjust the contact screws to eliminate any rattle, and your good to go. EA-SY

PERFORMANCE

out of the box i was surprised by its size, was expecting bigger, this thing is small considering it houses 2 18650.
It is small, but compact, being one block of aluminium, it has a nice weight to it, the handling is natural, falls right in my hand, the top button is as comfortable to use with the thumb or index depending on how you hold the box, edges are not rounded, but I like it like that, all around a very nice grip for me, and damn, it feels SOLID. like brick solid.
I was expecting a long battery life of course, but still got surprised by how slowly the voltage drops, I mean right now I have my batteries charging after 3 days of use (i have used it 50% of my vaping time), and I am not charging because I needed to, but just because I have the opportunity, my voltmeter reads 3.8 after 3 days of use!! I've been running it mostly with my beloved Orchid V4, the build on it is a dual coil at 0.6.
Along with this longevity, you also gain in consistency, you won't experience this sudden and frustrating drop in power that you get with mono battery mech mods, it almost feels like you're on a regulated mod, the vaping experience is long and smooth.
Finally, this thing hits, it hits hard, hard and long. All the issues that made me go away from mech mods seem to be solved with a dual box, no wonder they got so poular, and as long as you keep a safe care of your batteries, it is maintenance free and nearly undestructible.

roughly same size as a cana

IN A NUTSHELL

If you are an experienced vaper, just go for it, the price is 29.99, I mean ... I was not expecting a box that solid for this price. I got it because I was curious about parallel built boxes, but I didn't expect such a nice experience, ended up liking it more than I would have thought and it sure found a place in my rotation and put mech mods back in my pocket.

Those are some very nice pics, and a nice write-up. I'd kind of figured I wouldn't buy anything but more SMPLs, since they're so darn nice but.. that looks really nice too! I was expecting a rude surprise when we finally got to the price, but $30 seems extremely reasonable. The 510 portion looks particularly interesting. Is it a pain to adjust, or isn't that necessary? It's late and I can't comprehend anything, you'll have to excuse me.

Kudos, be sure to update us after you get it really broken in :D
