The point of VV and VW was to allow you to control the amount of vapor produced. You could change some of that by varying the Ohmage of the coil, but the real limitation is that when you push it up too high, it burns the juice which destroys flavor and potentially introduces health concerns. It could also burn too much juice and dry out the coil.
Temp control forces you to rethink all of that. The most important setting is now temp. No matter what wattage, it will always be limited by that temp. It will cut out and on quickly, attempting to maintain the desired temp. SO if the wattage is set high enough to hit that desired temp, you are limiting the burnt juice.
Also, the same technology that does all of that also allows the device to know when the coil is getting dry. It will cut out and prevent that dry hit. It also allows you to get more juice out of a coil, so your next refill doesn't have the same flavor as the old juice.
Now, wattage, if high enough to trigger temp cutoff, is just a matter of the initial burst of power and the power to bring the coil back up. Maybe it equates to a slightly warmer vape.
