So paranoia has set in after I read some posts where using LR attys can "possibly" shorten the life of an eGo battery. Me being a Mega Paranoid Personality Type immediately went to look at my atty's.

When I bought my first eGo kit it came with 2 reg atty's. I also bought a pack of 5 atty's and the guys gave me 2 regular & 3 LR so I could try out both types. I promptly went home and put them all together in my Atty box. They ALL look exactly the same to me. So either I'm blind or they gave me all the same kind.

I have noticed a difference in the length my batteries keep a charge since I switched to a new atty a couple of days ago so I guess my only choice is to buy a mod that will work with the LR atty's.

I've only bought 6 since then and the LRs are marked. So moral of the story keep your reg atty's & your LR attys seperated...LOL

Some have an "LR" etched on the round part (geez, it's all round, huh?) near the threads - the middle part. Otherwise you need to get a multimeter which isn't a bad idea anyway.

I've used LR attys on my eGo since about March, when they first came out, and I haven't had any problems with attys or batteries. I haven't seen the posts to know if it's been researched by one of our battery experts or not. There's only a couple of people I would trust to know battery related stuff, one person is Drozd.

Some are marked on the bottom of the atomizer. I personally just figure it out by vaping it at low volt. I am interested in finded out why you are supposed to use it on a larger battery device. I have been using my ecig less and less and have thought about going to LR atties on stock 510 batteries, but don't want to have one blow up in my face.

Sounds like you are using the LR's as an excuse to buy a Mod....understandable, we all have a justifier. But, on a serious note, read Battery University. If you truly are having charging issues, the site will give you the real reasons why.

Thanks Parallex, I found that site and have bookmarked it to read tomorrow when my mind is fresh...I'm pretty new to this stuff & try not to get to paranoid that I'll buy something & then screw it up cause I do something stupid. And, yep, I was pokeing fun at myself with the mod comment. I am actually considering a Little Sister. A friend who's on this forum as well as another I'm at recommended it to me.

Oops. I don't have enough posts to place a link, it looks like!!

Sorry about that.

hmmm... this is post number 5, let's see if it works now?

If you have questions on running a multimeter, let me know - even though I've only used one for 4 months, I'm getting quite proficient keeping track of 510 atties running 1.5, 2.0, 2,5, 3,0, 3.5 and 5.2 (Ikenvape prototypes) on ecig mods with voltages outputting at 3.2, 3.7, 4.2, 6.0, 6.5, 7,5 and 8.4; and these atties all look the same!

Take care,

JTF

Thanks for all the info folks. This site is so awesome with everyone willing to help. I found Battery University and a couple of other technical threads and have asked my wonderful hubby to read through them so he can fix my problems. He said he has several multimeters. He was an electronics mechanic before retireing so I don't know why I didn't ask him before . I am mechanically & electronically challenged. All I want to do is vape
