Hi all,

I've been vaping for about 6 weeks, and have been really enjoying it.

however, for the past couple of weeks I cannot vape anything without tasting a hideous taste if I exhale through the nose. I've tried countless juices in 3 separate tanks, new coils, washed everything out in vodka etc. I've tried friends' vapes and they've tried mine, so I know it's not a setup problem. Always sub-ohming, always high-VG.

If I exhale through my nose I taste chemicals, but if I just exhale through my mouth I barely get any taste. I've found several threads on the issue (this one describes my issue EXACTLY Weird taste when I exhale through my nose? • /r/electronic_cigarette), however I haven't been able to find anyone who says they had the problem and solved it, or what they did. Anyone had this issue and can offer any suggestions? I'm getting so disillusioned!

Cheers, RR

Cowtown, USA. Where the West begins.
It would not be unusual to have better taste using your nose. Smell and taste are closely related senses, and use many common nerve trunks to process the data. Wine and brandy drinkers, for example, bury their noses in bulbous glasses and inhale through the nose while taking a sip to bring out the flavor highlights.

If your flavor is increased by nose exhales, that makes me wonder if the flavor is the same all the time, and you just can't taste it with mouth exhales. And if you've been vaping fir 6 weeks, that makes me wonder if you've changed your coil.

For me, it was a taste bud issue. I actually exhale through my nose as a regularity. I think, for me, that my sense of smell is more accurate. Early in the morning until I go to bed, I am putting stuff in my mouth that influences taste positively or negatively. My nose, I think less so.

Yes, flavors do change because of what I just ate or drank. That is why I switch so much throughout the day.
