Im joining the club..

My Taifun gt III clone came in from FT.

Needed a quick wash down, the screws are nice, the positive voltage path is nice, tank is nice, easy to wick. Flavor & th are great too.. Air flow is smooth with a fine air control for a restriced lung hit, about just right for single coil. Its more open than my drilled out bachelor. Assembly is tight no weeping press fits here. (like the smok tfg2). I like the new taifun a lot!

The quality of this one seems very good. I like the fit and finish. Though the top of the tank threads are fine and need care. I dont foresee any seal problems at the base. The glass seems sealed enough. The fill cap threads are smooth, its easy to fill with wide ports.

24g 316ss, 3mm, 6 wraps, .34 ohms, 40-45w pwr, Rayon wick. Air wide open, lung pulls.

Laid mandrel on base, attached leads, pulled up the coil a tad.

Started with a spread and rolled, doubled over DM ball rayon strip piece... Stretched out a little. I pulled till it stopped, then stretched to even the density enough to pull it through. (that's basically my installation method)

Tucked the bottom 1/4 or less in to the wells. Trimmed the rest to fit the chamber.

Blew out about 6 long pulls to break it in.. Its been vaping like a absolute champ. Bubbles are flying during a vaping session no problem. Its an agressive vape with this single coil, poppy and explosive right now which i love. No spit back on this tank which is a little surprising since its so intense with the fresh wick right now, must be the airflow.. Great th and flavor.

No leaks.. ovenight with jc open, no leaks. laying on its side no leaking or weeping so far, so good.

Its a winner in my book, looking to be my daily driver.

@Dubminer
What Pin do you use on your K5? You would need the same for the GT3, it's 2mm. The GT3 can be a nice MtL vape, I just think that other tanks -especially designed for it- do a better job overall when it comes to MtL.

@ccwaters
I have a clapton coil in my Authentic, but with those screw/holders it's not easy to tight down correctly. People are spoiled by velocity-style decks. ;)

Just my opinion, neither the KF5, or the TGT3 were designed for MTL, they simply made some reducers to appease the MTL users. I've not tried the reducers on either, I do have both. Strictly from a how tight can you get it without the reducer perspective the TGT3 wins, overall when I feel like tightening up the airflow again, the TGT3 wins. The Kayfun 5 to me is just not that great, good, yes, great no, seems to me they tried to cater to both MTL & DTL, and sort of failed at both.

To me it is easily the best Kayfun, but not even close overall. Now the TGT3 is sort of the same, they attempted to cover both ranges, and did a better job IMO then Svo did.

On both ends of the spectrum, the TGT3 does it better, with better flavor. I use my TGT3 daily, my KF5 collects dust. But that has been the case since I got it, just does not suit me, again, good but not great.

Plus personally I find it sort of fugly, I guess I sorta think the TGT3 is kinda rough on the lines as well, but willing to overlook that because it performs exceptionally well.

My 2016 pick for MTL atties is the Doggy Style 2k16, very simple to build, can manage a fairly restricted lung hit, but was designed for MTL. I've only had it a few weeks, but so far this thing is the dryest pocket atomizer I've used. Zero condensation zero leeks/seeps.

Flavor is right up with the best. The 3.5ml rated capacity seems close, and for the size of it is very good. The only real negative to me is the plastic only tank, but I don't vape plastic damaging liquids, and spares are available so I'll overlook that. Filling is done like the old TGT unscrew the tank, fill put it back together. Yea a negative for some, but again it keeps the size down, and personally I find that fill method good, easy, and fast.

For under $14 for the clone it is worth the look for sure if your a MTL person.

I still use plastic tanks for my Taifun because I stocked up on them along with glass as it seemed the GT2 was phasing out and I was freaking out because I've gone through maybe 4 glass sleeves due to either falling or actually twisting it too, although I think that's an O-ring issue as I broke one yesterday even.

That doggy looks interesting and "SJMY Doggy Styled" is the best tank name ever. For the GT3 though it seems these are the only 2 versions to get right now:

$20.27 GT III Styled RTA Rebuildable Tank Atomizer - 304 stainless steel + glass / 5ml at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

$17.90 SXK GT III Mini Styled RTA Rebuildable Tank Atomizer - 2.5ml / 316 stainless steel + glass at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Then there's this one from Europe which I think might be the 304. It clearly states it's by Eycotech and looks great with the presentation 100x better than the fasttech mess that's going on: TAIFUN GT III Clone - SS304 - GT3 RTA by Eycotech

Update on my two GT III clones from Fasttech...1st one still doesn't want to turn the jfc quite right...even with oring lube...but is serviceable. #2 not nearly as tight and about about a point and 1/2 below flawless. Standard kanthal build in one, 430ss twisted temp control in the other. Both giving a VERY satisfying vape. No problems in tc at all.

I took a look at it, ended with them not being able to verify age so no dice.
Give Intaste a try, they much better to deal with anyway.
InTaste
just an update on smokerstore/intaste. First, the remarkable thing is that SS actually answered an email question within the hour. That is a first for me. Usually no answer at all. The bad news for anyone in UK (if you didnt know already) that all German stores (and Netherlands also afaict) will no longer ship to UK. That includes INTASTE also of course. I dont know why - TPD related I guess - but I dont get why the restriction is limited to UK and not other EU nations...oh well...

Does anyone know where I can source an AF restrictor for my tg lll clones I have the sxk mini one. It is much to loose if a draw for me
The reducer from the authentic will probably fit, not sure if cost + shipping is going to kill that notion though.

If it were me, and I needed additional restriction I'd go with a rolled piece of ss mesh, or some ptfe tubing. from what I've seen mentioned the reducer for the authentic is just a piece of peek tubing.

Its been in my cart waiting for the inevitable CNY 15% off. I enjoy the Hurricane Junior which has the same base/deck, this one adds 2mm/3mm/5mm airflow options, more capacity and the glass tank. The Junior is a nicely open Airflow, has the 5mm option included in the V2. Don't really need the smaller ones myself, but it should make for a decent MTL tank.

TPD differences, I assume.
Some countries including Germany only have a loosely defined 2ml restriction (as of yet, only on "closed systems"), while the UK extended the restriction specific to _all_ kind of tanks. Curiously on the other hand, the UK doesn't regulate mods at all, they don't see them as part of the e-cigarette. o_O

Here, we have a 6 month waiting period on any TPD-registered device (which the UK doesn't have). But thanks to another german law (against economic disadvantages) those devices are still allowed to be sold, if they are in another EU country legal under the same (EU) law (restriction: as long as it does not violate a third law, which isn't the case here).

I have been trying to get the machine oil flavor out of my taifun gt3 mini clone with no luck. I have soaked it in hot water with dish soap multiple times and now even rubbing alcohol and I can still taste it. Which is a bummer because I got the MTL insert and I am really loving the way it vapes but that slight machine oil flavor is just killing it for me 8( any tips anyone
