Hi.I am slowly building my DIY arsenal and have gone through several threads.I am a bit surprised that people tend to use syringes instead of pipettes for their liquid transfers. If you really want precision and not use the weight method, pipettes (polystyrene or glass) are easier to use and more accurate in a sense because you don't have to compensate for the amount of liquid held inside the needle (unless you remove the needle every time before pouring the liquid which is not very comfortable if you have to do it several times).Just my 5 cents.

I think most DIYers would say that the amount of liquid in the needle is so small that it becomes insignificant in a bottle of juice - unless, perhaps, you're only making a tiny bit of finished juice. In that case you'd probably be measuring by drops, anyway. I primarily use plastic syringes when I'm mixing, but keep my 10 ml pipette ( with a pump on top) for adding my tank cracker flavorings. I also use it to measure VG since the opening is quite a bit bigger than even a fairly large gauge needle. Just my opinions.

At first I tried syringes for flavorings but in small batch amounts it is very hard to get an exact weight because they are designed to be pushed in all at one time. So for me they are hard to control and very easy to squirt way more then you need by weight. Once its in the mix you have to adjust everything else or hope for the best. I screwed up my calcs weighing last night (should have just gone to bed) long story short I ended up with with 3x more flavorings then intended. So I figured now would be a good time to go Max VG and see how it does. But I do still use the 5ml syringe for adding PG/VG if making anything more than a few test milliliters. If you can close attention to how much you suck up into a pipette or dropper you can almost learn to gauge how much you will need to draw inside to hit the weight you have set for the limit.

I'm off to test two I made at 2am last night and make 3 more I am giving a whirl. This is so much fun and so easy. I haven't come up with anything yet unvapable to me. If I go to the vape shop I will only find a few worth vaping to me. How can this be? Is it the cook thinking his food is best because, well HE cooked it? :D

That is funny.
Syringes are designed to deliver a precise amount. Think about meds that are given in hospitals/Diabetics.

If you don't know how to do this, you pull the liquid into the syringe past the mark you want and force it to the amount to be delivered. The amount of juice in the needle is not a factor as this is not delivered when pushing the plunger in.

eggzacery whats in the needle stays in the needle unless you double pump when the inital bulk has been emptied

Syringes are designed to quickly and easily measure small volumes and then quickly or at least semi quickly be pushed all the way in to deliver the substance. This is all fine and dandy when you are going by measuring volume but if you are adding flavorings by weight especially at smaller amounts they are a pain IMO. For VG and PG at higher amounts or even flavorings they are great if you are making a big batch to get you up to target weight fast but I'll still finish it with a dropper to the exact amount. However anyone does it the key is to do it the same every time and note it all down. I don't use calculators I just add how much flavor of each I think it should be add the nic and then the PG/VG based off the final amount of the first two. Do I know my exact ratios? Close enough for the fact I am straight up guessing to begin with lol. And if it tastes good, I repeat and scale up if desired no prolblem.

Havent i taught you yet cajun?
lol.
Get beaker/ glass funnel........and you don't have to use syringes !
And it won't spill like my pg did in my video.....never happens since i got that funnel.

Anyway, works for me.
