Howdy!!!

Mornin Ricks!!!
@Pokeygizmo I had that same seepage you are. My wick was pretty gnarly sonI changed it and the issue went away. I've been trying to keep ahead of that and seems so far so good. I love how easy it is to swap in a new wick and this rig seems a lot less temperamental than the K4 with regards to wick.
Also, @Pinggolfer --
I have not forgotten about the HHV Fresh Grindz impression I promised!
It continues to steep as I continue to suffer from an enduring virus that has rendered my tastebuds null and void.
Hate it when that happens, meh![]()
Maybe it was just a one off thing because a coil should last a couple months imo. Maybe you over dry burned it a little? I think if dry burned too long , too much, it does over produce an oxidation layer and maybe when this happens, juice and such embeds into thus reducing the overall life of said coil. I don't dry burn like I used to, I do my dry burns at like 10 watts and for a much shorter time. I also use a tiny brush and rinse. I have recently been using a SS wire coil in one of my tanks and it seems to stay newer looking compared to kanthal, but it's to early to really tell. 2 weeks for your coil? So what was wrong with it? What did it look like in the end?A couple of pages back I mentioned that my wick needed changing after 4 days, well the next wick lasted only 2 days before it was producing almost no vapor and a burnt taste. I decided it might be time to recoil and all is good again.
So my question is how often are you guys recoiling your km3's? With my previous tanks I could go a month without recoiling by dry burning the coil and a quick rinse. This last coil in the km3 lasted a little less than 2 weeks.
I tried that wick once and didn't use any special build with it. Afaik, it doesn't require a special coil or build. This however was a couple years ago and maybe now there is more info about it and perhaps some tricks to make it optimal.ReadyXWick...
Does anyone have some build ideas for this stuff?!?
Thanks, Jim

No special builds needed. It's been a while since I used it but all my builds were basic with the only difference being ReadyXWick instead of cotton.I tried that wick once and didn't use any special build with it. Sounds good Lex!!!No special builds needed. It's been a while since I used it but all my builds were basic with the only difference being ReadyXWick instead of cotton.
The great part about this stuff is you can dry burn at will without removing or having to change it. ReadyXWick doesn't burn.
!!! G*NOTE FIVE !!!
That's really one of the reasons I don't like those silica types of wicks. Now I'm no expert by any means and don't know for sure but there have been studies on over heating kanthal and they say that if it heats up past a specific temp, it may not be good. Now obviously when dry burning, we are not vaping it, so maybe it doesn't matter, but all the same, I just don't dry burn like I used to. I'm sure it's fine and what I'm saying doesn't apply in our applications, but I do think it's good not to dry burn too much if possible. No special builds needed. I kin'a figure after all the cigarettes I've smoked in my life, dry burning the gunk of my coil is the least of my concerns. That's really one of the reasons I don't like those silica types of wicks. What is it? Wick that can be used indefinitely as it doesn't break down like cotton. What exactly is it? All of my builds are the same 2.5mm single coil. When I looked at their site I could only find 2mm and 3mm.
Thank you so much!Wishing you feel better real soon.
