I've been using the uwell Crown tank with the .5 SS coils on my IPV4S for the last few weeks in TI mode. It works great.
That's good to know.. Ordered IPV4S recently, would like to run it in TC, have some safety concerns with Ni/Ti... Did you do any special tweaks to the settings, or just treat it like normal Ti wire?

You can use it in power mode but try in in ti01 and start low work your way up see how you get on

@bman1977 seems to have indicated that he is using SS wire in TC mode for titanium in that mod. That's why I asked the question. Got some safety concerns about Ni/Ti, so I wanted to see if I can make it work with SS without a firmware update that'll probably never come (the mfgr will just release an IPV4SS model lol)

I have been wrapping coils with SS for both watts and TC. I like it. I see that they use SS for rabbit snares and it is $2.99 for 100 feet. My friend owns a music store and he wraps coils out of SS guitar strings. Wonder if their is SS that should not be used for vaping. I have been using SS316L that is widely used for vaping. Just some food for thought. CHEERS!

I've tried many ss builds on my ipv4s. It won't go into TC mode. Still vapes great if you like GPLATish vape.

I'm vaping now for a small week with stainless steel in TC mode and loving it! It's less springy than titanium and creates a warmer vapor then ni200.

I'm actually searching the forums here for more info on it, but it doesn't seem to be used a lot. Using it with the evic mini, the recent update has a SS option.

i will use SS only in temp mode, to decrease burned hits and a more steady vapor production. I see no reason to use it in power mode, if you got the option for temp. Better control over the vape imho.

I learned yesterday if you switch your istick off, press fire and the plus button and hold it for 20 seconds, that you then will activate titanium mode. I don't have an istick (bloody lost it when i was drunk... but that's another story) so i can't confirm it.. Just thought you wanted to know.

Sure enough it turns on Ti mode. Now it is selectable when pressing the center button to go from watts to ni mode, then again for Ti mode. Funny thing is that the istick 40 is only marketed as being capable of doing ni200 for temp control.

Still have my question about vaping SS on TC mode.... should it be done or should you regulate the wattage?

Either or SS had a very similar resistance to traditional Kanthol coming in only slightly lower on a meter, I typically make sure I have the coils glowing evenly before I put anything on them. I've tried them in both TC and regulated mode and they work just fine in both, SS is a smoother vape than traditional wire but very similar and easier to work with that's why I like it.
