Ok... Say if some numpty spilt around 15ml of 11mg eliquid on a carpet... unfortunately in this numpty's bedroom. What is the best way of getting rid of any danger. The incident happened yesterday morning... he soaked the liquid up with a rags... then diluted the spot with water(maybe inofective due to it being pg) and repeated the soaking.

The spots has now dried but theirs still an eliquid smell to the area.

I(the numpty) do have some spare Propylene Glycol knocking around... should I spill some of this on the spot to desolve any nicotine residue and repeat the soaking up... should I put on a gas mask, open every window and hover a hair dryer over the area to try to vaporise any nicotine?

Im not going to sleep in that room till i know its safe.

Well, I was gonna recommend using some vodka to clean the juice up. But that would just be two 'uh ohs' in a row...

PG is water soluble so diluting with water worked just fine. However depending on the flavor some of them are oil based which would explain why you can still smell it. A little resolve or mild dish detergent solution should take care of that for you. Don't soak the area too much or it will just get trapped in the padding under the carpet. I would not recommend adding mor PG to the carpet.

If you do clean it again with soap and water, sprinkle baking soda to cover the wet area. It will absorb the liquid in the carpet, and can also absorb any lingering odors. Leave the baking soda on there for "a while" until it lifts out most of the liquid. You'll be able to see the baking soda get damp and clump if the area is very wet. Then sweep the clumps up into a dustpan, and vacuum to get the rest out.

BTW, the baking soda trick works really well on red wine spilled on carpets (and couches). Pour a bunch of baking soda over the spill and watch it turn pink as it absorbs. Sweep it up, and then add more until all the liquid is gone. NO stain left whatsoever. Been there, done that, far too often to count!
