Okay, im new here and this is my first post, so ill try to make it as short as possible. I just got a new setup, an aspire atlantis tank and the matching battery. I had been using a cheap ego-t starter pack, and wanted to upgrade. anyways, I got the tank and battery, I set it up, but didn't have enough juice so I squirted in a little bit that was left in the bottle. stupid me I fired it without taking a drag and saw the coil glow bright orange, I took a drag and almost died. I was coughing and gagging awfully and almost threw up. I put it aside and went out to get new juice but the store I usually go to was closed so I went to a little country store type snack shop. I got a bottle of vapin plus cherry with 1.6% nic. I usually always vape 0mg nic, but I really wanted to try my new tank. I filled up the tank, let it sit upright for about 5-7 mins, primed it by sucking without firing, and finally took a drag. same thing, lots of coughing and gagging. I tried again a few minutes later, thinking the wicks weren't fully wt, and the same thing. I tried it in my ego t tank and it tasted just fine. what could be wrong?? I also changed the coil out to the replacement one that came with the tank, thinking I burned the other one, but still the same thing. please help, today I woke up with a sore throat, now im getting a headache and a small fever. could it be the nicotine? the tank? please help!

Yeah, That's what I was thinking. im going to try the normal juice I get and see if it changes any. also, is there a way to clean the wick to get rid of the current flavor? im thinking of dumping the juice that's in there now, and add new fresh juice, but how would I get the old juice out of the wick? just suck it up and do it? dry burn?
After you burn a head there isn't a way to fix it.
You should prime the head before installing it into the base by dripping enough drops on top of the wicking material to fully saturate. ( 5 ~10 depending on size of drops)
Then fill tank and assemble & take a couple primer puffs without pressing the fire button, you should see a few bubbles coming up from the head, then let sit for a few minutes before vaping.
Sore throat, headache, fever - sounds like you're coming down with a cold or flu, but, I'm not a Dr,,, go see one.
you using the same pg/vg blend because I highly doubt you are getting a fever from vaping, it is winter and you live in the tristate by me
Just saying Hi to all, I am one month without cigarrettes had the hardest time to quit. Did not smoke for 7 years, went to Germany and began again they even smoke while riding bikes. Well, here I am working on my first post. I am glad to have found this forum and website and now, I do not feel that guily of vaping.

ok, im back, still getting nasty hits from my tank, but fever/headache/sore throat went away the next day. I figured out that its not dry hits because im taking mouth hits and it tastes fine, but when I take the smallest lung hit I cough and gag like crazy. im going out to get new juice tomorrow and will update then. any other thoughts?

hi I had the same problem when i went from a pen to a sub ohm tank the nic was so high that it gagged me and terrible throat burn. the nic level was the problem as higher nic makes more throat hit. now that being said you are going to burn more liquid per hit on an atlantis than on a pen setup thus vaping more nic per hit. I use 3mg to 6mg on the atlantis. hope this helps as I've been there and done that lol
Nicotine can cause nausea, feel feverish, hands clammy, if your not accustomed to it. Its somewhat similar to the feeling you can get from opiates when your not used to pain medications. Its not a good feeling.
If you went from vaping 0mg in a clearo, to 16mg in a sub ohm tank... Then it would be like the equivalent of 24mg nic in a clearo... That high nicotine is some harsh stuff, will definetly give you a headache and make you quisey.
This is your answer. WAY too much nicotine. The Atlantis delivers nicotine a whole lot more efficienty than your old set up. You might wanna try the 0 mg when you get some.
