I started with a 808 kit then bought a couple of 510 kits. Then came the ego 1000 pass-through now I am on to a Lava Tube and a revolution V2.1 and waiting for my indulgence kit to arrive. For me the 808 kit was a waste but it was my first e-cig so it has a special place in my heart. My recommendation to any one just starting out is to buy a riva 650 kit and Kanger 510 cartomizers. If you choose not to stay with vaping you will not regret the price of the kit and if you are like the rest of us these are a very solid unit that work great.

I like you started out two weeks ago with the halo G6. Its a Kr808 Cig sized. While Im not unhappy with it, I have already upgraded to a buzz pro (notcigs.com) and as soon as I can I will be buying either eGO/Riva or a Reomod (probably a Reo being as I know Im going to be a diehard vaper).

My main issue with the cig size is I am blowing through 3 - 4 battery charges a day. A ego/Riva can be bought for around $50 (about $10 more than a good cig sized setup) and would last you almost a full day to a full day or more on one charge. Also the flavor with the cig size isnt as good due to the lower voltage under load..... and the ego/Riva fits easily in your hand and the only thing people will see is the 2-3 inches of cartomizer that your sucking on.

If its vanity your worried about (people asking you what you are "smoking") dont worry about them. In fact I have turned two of my smoking co-workers into vaping (and hopefully quitting analogs) because they have noticed Im not smoking a cig anyway....

Trust us...we have been there, and done that. Go for the eGO/Riva.....

I 2nd this. I've only been Vaping for two weeks (1st disposables and now the Blu regular) and although I'm happy with it, I am already looking at an eGo 900mAh. I won't do it anytime soon (at least a few weeks to a month) but I do find myself charging my batteries multiple times a day, and I have 4 batteries. Mainly because after multiple drags, the batteries seem to lose their power. I'm also already refilling the cartos that I have for it, finding that it is going to save me a ton of money.

All in all, I wouldn't change the route I have taken. I've invested $120 into vaping to start and that will last me a very long time. The small size is easy to take with me on the go (behind my ear) and I can keep it in my shirt pocket at work. I have the PCC for if I need it and a usb charger. It's small and gives me the 'feeling' of smoking that I wanted. No matter the choice, as long as you can quit smoking, that's what's important. I'm now 72 hours smoke free and looking forward to many more days of the same.

How much do you smoke? How long? How much can you spend? Is it important that it look like a cig?

We can help you narrow down some choices that way.

Well, it depends. If he/she is a 30 year smoker a big battery is good. If you've been smoking 4-5 years and just smoke when you're out or want to take it to a club, they might like a mini.

SF is right on point. I was temped skip all of the other posts in this thread and just throw my 2 cents in. Then I started thinking about some of the same things SF mentioned above (as I know how most will just recommend what they have because they swear by it). This wouldn't have really provided you the right guidance though.

I was a pack a day smoker of Newports. When I started I thought I'd need something that looked like a cig and tasted like one. I actually ordered a free trial kit online before I found this forum. Luckily, I found this form and started researching and asking questions and getting some very good advice (SF provided much of that good advice and guidance). Needless to say, I ordred a eGo starter kit and cancelled that free trial eCig before it even made it to my mailbox. The eGo has kept me smoke free for four months now and I love it. I went with the 1000mah batt kit and a charge lasts me all day (probably more but I usually throw it on the charger before I go to bed). Honestly I think an eGo type eCig will always be in my PV collection as I love the simplicity, performance, and size (it fits nicely in my pocket so it's great when I'm on the run).

In the end it'll be your decision to live with so do your due diligence and remember there's no such thing as a stupid question. Ask away because there will be someone here that can answer it or point you in the right direction. Start by answering the questions that SF proposed above and you'll be well on your way to making an informed decision. Hope this helps a little.

The lavatube is sweet too. I got one and I haven't put it down yet. Misfires from the button (which is rare) but it's a beast.

This mod is exactly what you DON'T want. Misfires? Are you kidding me that you would recommend something that misfires to a new person? You need to get a decent VV instead of this pile of junk. Then you'll know the true meaning of variable voltage.

Regarding economy: my State has a relatively low tax on cigarettes so my (roughly) carton a week was "only" costing around
$35. A week. Times 4, which came to around $140 or so a month. Now I figured if I could just break even I'd be way ahead of the game. I don't live on a "fixed income", I live on a "broken income", so these nickels & dimes add up pretty fast. It took a couple of months but I figure now I'm beginning to break even, and it can only get better from here (barring government intervention or some such). Also, anything I've spent over and above what I'd have spent on cigarettes, I write off to "educational expense" so either way I slice it, I'm getting my money's worth.

Welcome to ECF, & happy vaping!

The Smok Tech eGo I linked earlier is very good, That website (Liberty Flights) also has the Riva 510 ($30 with the 20% off code), which is another great option, but they are out of stock at the moment. It shouldn't be long until they are restocked. You can always call them up and ask. Their customer service is easily one of the best in the business.

You can also get a Riva 510 straight from the manufacturer (Eastmall), but it's a bit more expensive there - Riva 750 (510) Starter Kit

The KGO is another very good option. Lots of people rave about this one - KGO 1100 mAh 2 battery kit

I am sure you will be given a few more choices by other members. The nice thing is that they will all be good choices. That might be a bad thing, because settling on one will be that much harder. :p

Nice little e-cig! One battery though. 2 or 2 1/2 hours of use, 2 hours on charge. Is an extra battery available?

If you haven't already found it, I thought you might be interested in this one, also a 510 thread, auto battery.

Whatever you decide, you'll be making the right choice . . . getting off the analogs and living a healthier lifestyle is what its really all about.

Let's know how it goes and don't hesitate to keep asking questions and read, read, read!!

Best to you!!

^^Probably the best piece of advice you'll get. If you do go with the SDKey consider a back up or order 2 as they are pretty low priced. Battery life was definitely an issue for me and one of the main reasons I didn't go with a cig sized PV when i started. Whatever you get let us know and be sure to post here (http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/225727-pictures-your-setup.html) when you recieve your new obsession.

I agree with what everyone else has already said an ego style PV sounds like a logical choice. I have
I can definitely relate to the budget issue. I tend to be on a less than shoe string budget most of the time. Let me say though, I see it as making an investment, one that can keep you off of analogs. A few dollars more now could lend to saving in the long run. Also keep in mind that the auto batteries can start to go bad when juice gets down into the auto switch leading to early replacement of the batt.

ok so i think im going to order THE SD KEY RING E-CIG BY TROG (510 threaded) and some liqued to start of i think i should be good with that for now im still rifleing through the net to see if i can find anything else better before i order this one

I've heard good things about it but also heard the juice that comes with it is pretty terrible. I'd order a box of 2.0 boge cartomizers and juice.

Take a look at Cooper Creek house blend. I haven't tried it but it won juice of the year.

I can tell you that through my experience buying my first e-cig, which was just recently, I did my research. Asked around, luckily there where a couple of people around me that had them, took that advice and came up with mo own decision. I am currently deployed so I was looking for more of a rugged piece that had a long battery life. I work a good 12 to 14 hours a day and didnt want to constantly be going through the charging of batteries. I chose the ego-c. I have to say for my needs it was a great buy. The tank holds plenty of fluid for me and the battery last a good shift or two. I guess what I am trying to say is you have to figure out what you want from your device then research, research, research and come up with the device that you think will suit your needs. I am not trying to push any product here just telling you what I chose and why.
