I think you'd have to actually drink your e-juice and swallow it before reaching a dangerous level. I've had a few drops of 18mg juice in my mouth and haven't suffered from it; it stings ever so slightly, pretty much the same feeling as wetting a cigar with your mouth, but it tasted so much better (cherry tobacco with a strooong cherry flavor). I did rinse my mouth right after and didn't swallow it though, and you'd probably have to be vaping while lying on your back to accidentally swallow more than just a couple of drops.

I'm just basing it on the numbers... I remember having a couple drops on my tongue and feeling a little sick.

This is why you should be careful when handling e-liquid.

If you spill a whole bottle on your arm, then rinse it off with water and then go online and order another bottle. Just like you see on labels for household cleaning products, if it comes into contact with skin rinse away immediately.

You must handle with safety. Just like you must handle cigarettes as safely as possible with using lighters/matches, etc. That's pretty dangerous, too if one is being careless.

Most of the time, common sense will keep you out of trouble.

I would be impressed if you could inhale 2ml of e liquid! If you consumed enough e liquid to poisen your self im going to assume you were trying to do so. Accidental spills or even 2ml of juice in your mouth won't kill you and you would honestly have to try and drink it to make your self sick.

My point is the tiny quantity required to kill you... I mean you could probably drink a whole bottle of bleach and not die (im guessing you would throw it up back out), but a few drops of e liquid and you could possibly, seeing as it absorbs pretty quickly?

Again just basing it on the numbers for lethal dose and how much nicotine is actually contained in e liquid... Have you tried drinking 2 ml?

Some people are more sensitive than others and you might also have various reactions to the ingredients in various e-juice. nicotine concentration can also have an impact on how much will be absorbed. I did rinse my mouth thoroughly after getting it on my tongue.

I read that nicotine from e-juice will take longer to be absorbed, but yea, you should rinse it off thoroughly.

you really have to be a troll to say "I mean you could probably drink a whole bottle of bleach and not die, but a few drops of e liquid and you could possibly?" bleach can kill you with a very small amount and even taking a sip of it and swallowing it BURNS your mouth, esophagus, and stomach. i know this because being EMS iv seen people who have tried/ succeed to commit suicide with it. i also want to see where your getting your info from

OK so i admit i haven't actually drank bleach so i'm not sure but i think it would be more than 2ml of bleach to kill yourself...

I'm getting my info from basic math 18mg per ml, 2ml = 36mg of nicotine
30-60g of nicotine = lethal dose

Perhaps it works differently if you swallow nicotine but i still find it to be a bit worrying, hence why i'm talking about it now - to get some knowledge. Thank you for calling me a troll though.

Human data: The fatal human dose has been estimated to be about 50 to 60 mg [Lazutka et al. 1969]. [Note: An oral dose of 50 to 60 mg/kg is equivalent to a 70-kg worker being exposed to about 30 to 40 mg/m3 for 30 minutes, assuming a breathing rate of 50 liters per minute and 100% absorption.]CDC - Immediately Dangerous to Life or Health Concentrations (IDLH): Nicotine - NIOSH Publications and Products
30 sec google search found this

So if i've understood that correctly around 8ml is the minimum fatal dosage? (at 18mg per ml)

30-60mg of nicotine can kill an adult, in one cartridge say you hold 2ml of 18mg e liquid and then there's somehow a crack and it leaks as you inhale then you inhale 2ml of e liquid... You would consume 36mg?

Such a small amount can be lethal, a little scary, for me anyway.

1ml of 18mg e-liquid contains the same amount of nicotine by volume as 10ml of 18mg of e-liquid. In any case, I don't think a few drops can be lethal. The only case where I know someone has died as a direct result of e-liquid consumption / ingestion is by directly injecting it in an attempt to commit suicide.

There is also a big difference between accidentally getting a drop on your tongue and drinking it.

Yes, you should be wary of who is around your e-liquid (especially pets and children) but as a vaper of over a year, I've had numerous drops of liquid in my mouth with no adverse effects, so although you are right to suggest caution, I think you might be over-stating the danger.

Now if you DIY and use 60 or 100 mg/ml then even skin contact can cause some pretty bad side-effects if you don't wash it off quickly. I always use gloves and eye protection when I am DIYing.

I never meant more than a few drops.

Here are some numbers:

Start at 40 minutes. She talks about lethal dose from swallowing at 42 minutes.

From her numbers, and if I made the calculation right, swallowing 1.6mL of 18mg juice is pretty much the lethal dose (and the actual number will vary from one person to the next). I never really meant more than a few drops in my previous posts, but this evidence makes it clear it is better not to take chances.

Anyone willing to check my numbers?

if your serious i am sorry but i posted the cdc link to nicotine above which gives you the lethal dose(everyone is different) which should give you the info your looking for but alot of stuff goes into it like tolerance weight age current health there really isnt a set number for every one like you said 2ml might not kill you but it might someone, so nicotine is the same. hope the cdc link helps you get kind of a base line for wat your looking for and sorry again if you were serious and i called you a troll
