I just spotted this TC mod. I kinda like the looks of this one and it claims to be made of real rosewood.

I've been talking about it, but everywhere I have looked shows it as a preorder except vaporrange. I am interested where you found it and if it actually arrives on Saturday.

I did get from Vapor Range and it did arrive Saturday but I didn't get a chance to go pick it up from my rental office until earlier today. I had a fresh Samusung 25R waiting for it and used it all day today. It is almost perfect so far. The size is exactly the same as an ipv mini just a bit more length and it barely weighs anything even with the battery installed which I love but some may not care for. The batter door is held pretty tight with the magnets but it does have a little wiggle when picking it up and holding it in my hand but it hasn't opened without me trying. The display is insanely bright and I had no issues at all reading it when I was out in the sun today. The one odd thing I found about it is the 510 seems to be about 25.5mm for some reason. Not a deal breaker for me by any means but I know some people will not be a fan of that at all. I haven't really put it through all it's paces yet but after about 12 solid hours with it I am extremely satisfied and feel it is definitely worth the asking price.

I spoke too soon I guess. I went to try temp control earlier with the new Sigelei tank I received today and after about 5 tries I finally got it to recognize it as a nickel coil but it wouldn't fire more than 100 degrees no matter what setting I tried. I put my Subtank back on and the battery meter went from 3/4 full down to empty in an instant and now it reads 9.99 ohm no matter if I have a tank attached or not. I tried a fresh battery and it made no difference and is reading it at about 1/4 full when it is showing fully charged in my other mods.

That is very disappointing to hear. I hope it was just a bad one. You contacted Vapor Range? I wonder how the customer service is as I have never dealt with that company before. Hope it get's resolved quickly!

I contacted them around 3PM and they responded with a return Priority return shipping label around 7PM. So far so good.

I also noticed the return label is addressed to Vaporrange.com but the address is the same address as Asmodus so I'm guessing they are the same company?

The Snow Wolf (all of them, they use the name on about a dozen or more products) are all Asmodus products. So it is probably more of a tracking issue for Asmodus to know what retailer it went through to get to you. The good thing is that you won't be sending it to Vapor Range and then Vapor Range will relay it to Asmodus. More direct, yo.

Bird Dog - any updates on this? Did you get a replacement 50W device and is everything working ok? I'm debating between buying one of these vs. the Snow Wolf 200. I've heard only good things about the 200 but love the look of this 50W device. Your comments though got me worried that there may be some quality control issues.

I actually just got my replacement today but haven't had a chance to try it out. I really hope it works this time as I absolutely love the look and feel of this thing. I'll report back when I get a chance to play around with it.

Just tried out my replacement and it's a dud too. Different wood than the original, gap on top/bottom of battery door and it somehow weighs about 3 times as much as the first one I had. It was in temp mode out of the box with no tank attached. I put my Subtank Plus on it with a 1.5 OCC and it still said it was in temp mode and showed 0.00 res. I went into the menu to read the res and it started to auto fire on me. I had to remove the tank and noticed it was out of temp mode now so I tried again. Stuck the same tank on it,no res, checked res and auto fire. This thing is a piece of junk.

rounding third and heading home...
i've had this for about a month now- no issues at all. it is a very simple menu and i like that. holding both the up and down buttons gets you a screen where you can set the atomizer resistance or change the temp. that's it- nothing else to bother with or any other buttons to push. mine has worked without issue since i got it. it feels great in the hand and changing the battey is the easiest i have ever seen. just swing the curved part, which is the door, and there is the battery. pull it out and put in a new one. swing the door back and your done in about 5 seconds. magnets hold the door in place and they don't rattle or otherwise have any issues. i have used it with a variety of tanks and all fired fine with no problems. right now i have a subtank on it with a ni200 occ coil and it is just great. i was drawn to the looks and so far it has been flawless so after reading the above comments i am grateful i haven't had any problems. whenever i am out and about it always draws comments and people always ask if i made it myself!
bottom line-it is a simple temp control mod that looks great and works great(for me). if someone wants to get into TC and is intimidated by the menu system on the dna40 or yihi board mods this is a nice one to use and see if TC is for you. i think it is fine and it can't be mistaken for all the other box mods which all basically look alike. i alternate using this with my hcigar vt40 and while the vt40 has the true dna40 with all its traits, both perform well. the vt40 is the best TC mod i have ever used(should be with the dna40 v5-evolv got it right as they move on to the dna200(wonder how many versions it will take for them to get the dna200 right?)this mod is nowhere near as sophisticated as the hcigar vt40 but i knew that going in and it has worked every time so i have no complaints there.....
