HI to all. while having a problem just found this forum and maybe here you can help me to clarify what's this))
SO what is the situation:
I have got X-priv kit not so long time ago.
It includes x-priv mode and TFV12 Prince.
from the begining i was woundering if it's normal that replacements coils are out of condition only after few days of using?
But time pass and now problem is bigger and bigger....
I bought RBA base for this tank.
Now every coil is dammaged just in half day of using( does not metter RBA or replacemen( all types i have tried) does not metter the liqud inside.
After half day usind a strong taste of ashes appears! it appears even while RBA cutton is totally new and white( whit out any signs of burning). Also i have metioned that in RBA cottom fuses in the middle after only half day. cuttom is wet enouhgt and from this side everything is ok. Also want to mention that i never can use recomended voltage for replecement coils( for example if on coil we see that use with 60-14 watt, best 70-10) i can use only 55 with out strong taste of burning) .
Also i considered that mod is dammaged and providing wrong woltage. so i chanched it from X-priv mode to wismerk rx200..the same
What's this? who else faced with this issue?) where is the problem?
Thanks a lot for helping in solving this.

Burnt coil will ruin the juice in the tank. If you didn't rinse out your tank good the flavor will carry over to the next coil.
Actually its not about juice taste.
While coil or rba is burned i take it off, clean the tank carefully everything and replace coil( or cutton) half a day the same situation((
Tryin different juice, all coils, but still the same..

Do you have experience with any other type of tank? Your tank and coils are designed for ultra-high-wattage use.
  • V12 Prince-Q4 Quadruple Coil 0.4ohm Atomizer Head (Pre-installed) (Designed for 40 - 100W)
  • V12 Prince-X6 Sextuple Coil 0.15ohm Atomizer Head (Designed for 50 - 120W)
  • V12 Prince-T10 Decuple Coil 0.12ohm Atomizer Head (Designed for 60 - 120W)
It sounds like you might do better with a tank/coil that is designed for lower watts, and possibly a MTL (mouth-to-lung) style tank. You're possibly never going to get a satisfactory vape with the V12 Prince tank.

I would probably never enjoy the V12 Prince tank, because I generally like to vape around 30 watts. The vapor would be too hot and the liquids would taste burnt to me.

The majority of vapers vape under 60 watts, as evidenced by my unscientific poll. How many watts do you vape at? (2018)

I use the original Uwell Crown (1) tank. It has four coil options; I use the ones designed for around 30 watts.
  • 0.15 ohm Dual Ni200 Nickel Uwell Crown Sub-Ohm Coil - 400 to 600 Degrees Fahrenheit
  • 0.25 ohm Dual Stainless Steel Uwell Crown Sub-Ohm Coil - 80 to 120W
  • 0.5 ohm Dual Stainless Steel Uwell Crown Sub-Ohm Coil - 30 to 80W
  • 1.2 ohm Single Stainless Steel Uwell Crown Coil - 10 to 30W
I get around 4 weeks use with these coils.

The below tutorial shows how to prime and break in your new coils for the Crown, but the principles used are relevant for whatever tank you're using.

I vape my tfv12 at 120+ watts and even higher i dont taste any burnt flavors and with enough airflow, i dont get a hot vape either. But with this tank, you have to push the wattage. The coils should last longer than half a day, so you have to be choking it off somehow, either by restricting the air too much or using too low wattage or combination of both. It is definately not a MTL type of tank. I dont know how youre using it but it wont give a very good vape if you close down the airflow and try to MTL.

These are picky tanks. They just require everything to be right. IDK if you are using not enough wattage or airflow, it's possible.

How do your prime your coils? What wattages have you tried? How much airflow? When you build on the RBA deck, what are you using? Have you tried anything other than cotton (rayon can withstand higher temperatures and etc.) When you say the mod is damaged, what do you mean? It's possible you got fluctuating readings with the RBA deck if you didn't coil it correctly or if a leg is loose.

Maybe it's not the tank for you, but more information might be helpful too. Also, have you watched any You tube videos on the tank or your devices and etc.? Just trying to be of help but really more info would help etc.

Best of luck,

Anna

Actually i never vaped on such voltage like you)) because of the one reason- dont know why but even on totally new coil if i put around 110watts- it begins to burn). very strange... airflow is usuallu maximum opened and i vape it usually on 60-80watts so what is wrong i dont know( i dont think its according juice type cause i alrady tried huge of it. anyt ideas?) thanks.

Hi ) maybe i'm just so unlycky)) but i have several fiends who has just the same kit with 12 prince, someone have just tfv12 tank. i Have x-priv kit with tfv12 prince and original tfv12 with wismerc rx200, but somewhere is mistake)))
IDK? - sorry what's this?
so coil can be burn is wattage is low?
i usualy make airflow maximum openet and vape 0.2, 0,4 OHm with 60-80 wattage. and problem appears.
what do you think of it?
When i use RBA i install coil, i have tried several types of cotton( for example called pro cotton) some other types. Never tried rayon.. Also im not preparing coils by my self, i purchase amlost ready coils like fuse clapton or smth like this.
Maybe x-priv mod is factory dammaged and providing wrong wattage? dont know. i tied to check it using my old one wismerc rx200 - the same situation

Lower than recommended wattage shouldn't burn coils, it should extend their life. How is your priming process? Also, some juices don't do well at higher wattages and can shorten coil life. IDK what the common variable for you is, I'm sorry. I wish I had better advice, maybe go to a brick and mortar if you have one near you, see if they can help you isolate what is going on. Bring a new coil and get them to help you prime it. (this is of course assuming you have a knowledgeable vendor near you). If not, maybe some YouTube demos might help you isolate the issues.

IDK. Best of luck,

Anna

Some ejuices just do not like higher wattage, especially when they have loads of sugar/sweetener in them. Instead of trying to vape such high wattage see if you can find a lower wattage where the juice does not burn. You may have to puff on it a couple of times to get the coil hot enough to vaporize the liquid but at least this will tell you if it is the juice or the coil/cotton. And make sure the coil is totally saturated with juice and that it is wicking as its suppose to. Try doing a couple of hits without hitting the fire button and see if bubbles of air are coming from the bottom of the tank to the top. This will tell you if the coil is receiving juice or not. Do one thing at a time to help to isolate the problem.

Let us know.

The 60-80 watts is too high. DO NOT pay attention to what is written on the coil. These are just recommendations by the coil makers designed so that the coils wear out faster and need replaced. Those high wattages are NOT required to use the coil.

Unless you turn the wattage down you will always have that burnt taste. Just try it. The members here at ECF are the most experienced vapers you will find anywhere.....you need to listen to the recommendations in order for your problem to be solved instead of insisting on using such a high wattage.

SMOK prince coils can handle 70-100 watts easily and taste fantastic. .17 coil and 70 watts or more is no issue at all. .2-.4 coil would require more like 40-55 watts IMO. I don't use the RBA deck for prince and just buy their .17 ohm X6 coils. 70 watts is what I use to help the battery last longer but the coil provides better flavor at 75-80 watts.

If ever/any ejuice you put in your tank taste burnt then you need to completely break the tank down and clean it totally including the orings. You may even need to replace those orings because if that burnt taste/smell is in them you are way better off replacing them instead of trying to get the smell out.
After carefully washing the tank in warm soapy water, then go over it with alcohol and let dry.
Good luck and let us know.

:)

I've had this set up for a couple/few months now. I have to agree that the pre-made coils don't last very long. I've gotten maybe a week, tops, on the Q4, X6 & T10....I've only been vaping Naked 100 which is a fruity, somewhat sweet juice. I've recently started to run my coils at the lower end of the suggested range, if not below to see if I can get more life from the coils.

Priming these is key, you really want to soak the material, fill the tank and then let it sit for at least 10 mins or longer. I can be a bit of a chain vaper but, have not had any dry hit issues with the Prince tank or coils.

I'm hoping for another maker to come out with compatible coils that last long...I'm talking to you, Vaporesso ;)
