OK I have read a TON of articles here and PBusardo's tutorials. I have made great looking coils with lots of vapor and popping sounds. Went to the EHuman tutorial and still cannot get the vapor to taste.....more intense than the Johnson Creek Vea carto's. I have tried higher voltage like 4.2 volts and it gets a really bad burnt taste beyond there. I can make this thing work very well with absolutely no hot spots on the coils...but the taste is not there. What am I doing wrong? I hate to think I baught the Vamo just to install a tank on it. I have a vapor's bounty of Kanthal and footage of mesh....30 guage and 400 x 400 316L. Fiddle with several wick and coil combinations for 2 weeks now.....the best production so far is 4 coils at 3.6 volts and 3 watts {1.2 Ohms}. But still cannot match the taste from my carto. What gives? May have to just pass on the RBA's....everyone else seems to have mega flavor.....not me. I vape on Vermiilion River Knetucky Premium only.

Wrapping coil tighter than you thought was tight enough?

It will slid up and down a bit when prodded around.....but it seems to be touching all the way round. I have cleaned it off and dry burnt it to see if that will help. What a mess to have it working great with a bad taste. Seems even across the board for the lot of wicks and coils I have made for it. Maybe start from scratch again and see what happens after a cleaning. It wicks good and seems to make a lot of vapor. but alas not as good a taste. Hopefully it is not my juice....but I have seen strange things with this hobby. Thanks for trying to help me. Not sure what I am doing wrong...if anything now after some thought of how much the taste is greater from carto to tank. Might be missing the sweet spot with the RBA still.....more fiddling with the bits and bobs is in order.

I have made yet another wick and this time 3 wraps on the coil. It measures 1.1 ohms, operating at 3.6 volts and 3 watts. I have some normal taste of my juice.....but not as like with a carto. Maybe it will increase as it gets used....going to try this setup for a day or so and see if it improves. Thanks......any suggestions welcome

Where are you getting that '3 watts' reading from, The Vamo? 1.1ohms at 3.6v should be giving you just shy of 12 watts. Maybe there's something amiss with your PV??? Do you have a mech you could try the RSST with? I don't know anything about the Vamo, but perhaps it's limiting voltage output due to the low ohms, and giving you an unsatisfying vape?

With the VAMO, if you make adjustments in VV mode, they don't translate to VW mode. So when you switch over, its at 3 watts. If you just switched over to see what it said, then switched back to VV, it would be at the VV setting you left it at (until you change batteries); and you would have "seen" 3 watts, but not "vaped" 3 watts.

1.1Ω shouldn't fire on the vamo, I thought that it cut off below 1.2Ω (and displays "LoΩ"). I think you wanna shoot a little higher for the regulated mods like vamo. feel free to correct me on this as I'm still learning all this.

This is true. I've had where it's hovering, and will fire, then the heated coil reads 1.1Ω. Wait 10 secs (ish), it fires. BTW are we in the right VAMO mode? "No2"
