Hello again. I’m back for my second review. I was fortunate enough to be contacted by Health Cabin to do another review. This time I am giving my thoughts and opinions on the Smok Resa Stick kit. It had been a long time since I had used any kind of tube mod. It brought back memories of the good old days (not so much) of using tube mods with double stack tenergy batteries in a mechanical mod. So without further reminiscing let’s take a look at the smok Resa Stick.

First thoughts and impressions:
When I was first asked to do this review I was internally questioning if I would like a unit like this. I’ve become accustomed to using box mods with varying features such as variable voltage/wattage, temperature control, and power control curves. The first thing I did was charge the battery and take the tank apart for cleaning like I do with all tanks. I wanted to start with a fully charged battery. This unit has a built in 2000mah battery so it takes a while to charge.
The tank came apart easily for cleaning and the threading seemed very smooth. The tank comes with the .15 ohm mesh coil installed so I decided to load it with some strawberry biscuit liquid and give it a try. Since this tank uses factory coils, I let it sit for several minutes after filling before trying to fire the unit. I started with the airflow completely open and it’s a good thing I did. I was surprised at how warm and strong the unit delivered the vapor. I know now why Smok calls it the “Cloud Hunter” on their website. After a dozen or so firings, I decided that the .15 mesh coil was just too hot for me so I put in the .25 dual coil that also comes with the unit. The .25 coil was more fitting for me and my vaping style.
As you can see, the Resa comes in various colors to fit just about everyone’s liking. I received the red on in this review but there is some blue splotches in it also. I have never really been one for bright colored mods but this one has really grown on me. The body of the stick and parts of the tank are a cobra resin. It’s not a wrap so you don’t have to worry about it peeling off of the body. It’s a seamless resin body. It has an LED around the fire button that flashes four times when fired and will flash fifteen times if the battery voltage drops below 3.3V. At first I thought that it was just a mechanical tube mod but it’s not. It has safety features built in like low resistance, low voltage, and short circuit protection. It also has an 8 second cut off but honestly I couldn’t imagine taking an eight second draw on this unit. I don’t normally take more than maybe a two second draw as strong as this unit fires. Even after using it on and off for a few days on the same charge, it seems plenty strong.
Even though the tank dimension is stated as 28mm, the base is 25mm and matches the stick body nicely but the airflow ring is 3mm larger but honestly is barely noticeable when holding the unit. The drip tip is removable but I found it to be very comfortable to use and the o rings seat very tightly into the top of the tank so you don’t have to worry about the tip slipping out if you pocket carry it like I did. You can easily grab it by the drip tip and pull the stick out of a side pocket. The top of the tank is threaded and easy to remove for filling. There are two large fill ports underneath that will accommodate most types of bottle tips or droppers.
Pros, Cons, and Final Thoughts:
Pros Mod:
- Good build quality
- Simple to use
- Attractive appearance( personal opinion)
- No rattles
- Comfortable to use and light weight
Pros Tank:
- Good threading
- No dry hits even when chain vaping
- Easy to disassemble and clean
- Drip tip o rings hold tip well
- 7.5ml bubble tank glass
Cons:
- When I changed the coil, the coil stayed in the tank instead of coming out with the base. It could have been that it was not tightened properly after I cleaned the tank.
- It might be good for some but the .15 mesh coil makes the vapor too hot for me
Final Thoughts:
I honestly didn’t think that I would like this unit since it is a fixed output device. I was pleasantly surprised. The battery and coil match up seem to fit well to provide a nice strong vapor delivery device. As I mentioned, the .15 mesh coil delivers a very warm and too strong for me vapor. The .25 dual coil is however a nice fit. The tank and battery unit seem to be well made and I could see myself using this as a lightweight pocket carry device for being out and about. Will it replace my dual battery units with RTA’s? No, but it definitely has its place in my arsenal of vaping products. The strength of the vapor on this unit would be good for beginning vapers as they could take short draws like they do on a cigarette. Also it is a good unit for the experienced vaper who just wants something lightweight that delivers a satisfying vape. I’ve used the Resa for about a week now and have not noticed any reduction in flavor or vapor production. I will be curious to see how long the coil lasts in this unit.
