The fact that Smoktech was able to release the Smok Pyrex DCT for around $13.00 makes me wonder if all the pyrex glass tanks of old were really worth the $40.00 to $50.00 price tags. Has anyone else thought about this? It's not like the Smok tank is of a much lesser quality of build than the other guys, it's actually a really nice, quality tank! I would like to hear from those of you who have owned both the high price glass tanks and the Smok Pyrex DCT and give your opinions, comparisons, etc. so others can learn from your experiences. For those of you who are not familiar here is Smok Pyrex DCT article that gives a detailed overall picture of the tank. Your feedback and input can be very valuable in helping a fellow member decide on whether to get one or not. I look forward to reading what everyone has to say! Thanks!

I have the $40+ Phiniac tank and I am very pleased with it. So I can't talk to the comparison of the two. My concern with the less expensive models (possibly unfounded) is the seals. I have yet to have to replace the seals on my Phiniac tank and have never had a leak. If the seals on the less expensive tank is just as good, I would be interested in picking one or two up.

I don't have a Smok DCT, but I do have a couple of friends that do so I have seen them and vaped off of them. Aesthetically I think they are .... ugly, but that is subjective. Functionally they are sound, but you can't remove the end caps which makes them a little harder to clean. As long as the caps stay attached there is less of a chance of leaks. I do worry that the end caps will eventually come off though. I'm pretty sure they are glued on and with extended use that glue will heat up and loose it's adhesion causing the end cads to come off (similar to what happens with clearomizers). The aluminum casing around the glass leads me to believe the glass isn't very think. They don't seem as well made as my tanks from IBTanked, 505 Vapors, or Valley Vapes either. With all that said, I think the $10-15 is about the right price.

I just got my first SMOK Pyrex Wednesday. I also got my Protank Wednesday. Having used plastic cleros and cartos for the past few months I really like the flavor the glass seem to brings out. Now the big test, as mentioned above, how will these hold up over time. I would like to try some of the other higher end glass tanks but do not know where to get them. Any site sugetions?

I'll try and get in here before Baditude, lol.

A lot of people enjoy, and/or use religiously, IBTanked and Phiniac tanks. I have one of each and can attest to their build quality. A special shout out to Phiniac for annealing their glass tank tubes, resulting in extra strength/durability.

Phiniac Rugged Pyrex Glass Tanks
IBTanked - Get Tanked With Us!

Both manufacturers make pyrex tanks with a *wide* variety in styling and colors, along with excellent customer service.

I also like valley view vapes. If you are in the market for a larger tank to fit on a silver bullet or the like then you should look into them. They don't have as many choises in size, but they do offer a wide verity of colors. They also have the least expensive pirex tank I've seen (next to the smok DCT). I like my Tripple V tank from valley view vapes better than my more expensive tanks from IBTanked.

Apparently the owner of vvv is having health problems right now so the store has been closed. According to his news letter he is having back surgery in a couple days and is hoping to reopen on July 1st.

double_aa_ron above ya mentioned a few. Ikenvape has the Puritank which is a Protank with a removable drip tip and takes Evod heads. Of course I'm drawing a blank on others but they are out there.

love my IBTANKED tank... ;)

don't care much for my smok tank. could be the carto, i'll swap it out some day and see if that changes anything for me...

want a phiniac and a tatroe...

If you're getting bad flavor or vapor production it's not the tank, it's the carto. For the most part a carto tank is a carto tank. Some look nicer than others and some use better materials than others, but as long as it doesn't leek no carto tank will out perform another.

i agree... i guess my post was a bit vague. i would think SMOK would have a decent carto, but maybe not with the e-liquid i am using or the carto just sucks, i dunno... but i do understand it's not the tank.
