Safe to leave 18650 charging overnight in nitecore intellicharger i2?

That's all well and good but I have to leave my gameboy advance SP that I got in 2004 charging because the li-ion battery is so worn out that it will die without warning even though the light displays green for full charge. All this risk of fire so that I can play pokemon blue and relive 1998 again.

You might want to replace the battery and fix the problem. There are also battery kits for cartridges.

If you do leave batteries in a charger overnight it might be wise to get one of those metal cookie tins Asylumsix uses (post 1) to house the charger and protect in case something goes crazy with the charger or the batteries. The Lithium batteries on YouTube that are shorted intentionally tend to spew and smoke before they mimic a blowtorch for a minute and then pop and spray hot electrolyte everywhere.

Video of an intentional short on an 18650. It finally spews and dies around 3:30.
