I just picked up some 0.5*.1mm/.020**.004" kanthal ribbon wire and wrapped an original Aga-T with a 4/3 wrap to get 1.6 ohms, which is way too high for me. I don't quite understand all the numbers, but this seems equivalent to 32g kanthal, maybe even higher. Anyone know what the equivalent to 28g kanthal is in ribbon wire measurements? I am looking to get my ohms to 0.8-1.0 ohms without having to do a 2/1 wrap:p

by measuring the wire you can approximate ohms before you coil it

if you take a look at member pdib his square coils cause minute resistance which
allow you to cheat a bit and add a few ohms where you want it on lower gauge coil
allowing me to use an ego battery #28-30ga.
with flat coils and more surface area you are in sweet spot @1.6
batteries are so inexpensive lol but sub 1's are awesome then
or you like the burnt taste on a single

Mich if you want to make use of that .5 ribbon wire with low ohms try this method to halve the resistance

'Folded' Kanthal Ribbon

I saw that and figured that was my next step . . . or the classies. A couple of months ago, this resistance would have been fine for me, but the sub ohm coils taste so sweet!

concert edition vaporers @sub 1ohm 32ga
its basically a hard short ceramic resistor \
but im using ss/silca wick so its a hybrid ss ceramic resistor
