Ok, first, I am going to explain something about the Provari that people are probably tired of hearing. It's freaking awesome. The first thing that will strike you, is just how good the threading is on this thing. I know that's kinda a weird thing to say right off the bat, but it IS pretty incredible and striking. The Provari clocks in an inch shorter than a Vamo V2 and is perfectly weighted. How did they do that? The LCD is a little strange at first, until you get what this device is about. It has the best LCD on any device I've ever seen. The Provari is the most consistent well built, most well thought device I will probably ever use. I don't know why I would get anything else. The downers are button top batteries only. If you are coming from cheaper devices, you probably have a rotation of batteries that you will never use again. I feel like, with some perspective, there are two ways to go if you are getting into serious vaping. Get a Vision 1300 mah spinner for 25 bucks or spend the 150 on a Provari. They are both good options. Don't get cheap Vamo style things. That's a real half-way to waste some money.

The new Joyetech Ego CC-atomizer: This thing is going to change clearomizers, but it doesn't really do it very well. The interesting thing about this clearomizer is the new wick feeding system. It's really smart and works really well. I've seen some posts a while back on this board about making a top feeding bottom wick for an evod/protank. This is what this device is with an airflow system that feeds the wick and no way for fluid to leak into the atomizer connection. It probably has the most clever atomizer head on the market for cheap clearomizer devices. It hits awesome and has great flavor. Probably the only clearomizer that I could suggest that someone can carry around and it won't leak. The bad thing is, it's about the the size of your battery/mod and holds 1 ml of liquid at best. This thing is gigantic and holds next to nothing. I think we will soon see the market flooded with improvements on this. Probably a new evod that can hold 2ml and shave a half inch off the size. This IS the best thing happening in clearomizers right now, it just isn't hitting it out of the park with it's size and disparate capacity. The design is very weird and takes some getting used to. There is any extra component to the shell that I don't understand why it exists. There is an entire big piece in this device that is simply there to connect the atomizer connector to the clearomizer. Very strange. It can get in the way as it can easily come unscrewed while adding liquid (which you have to do alot), but there is no easy way to handle it without some tweezers. It gets stuck in the clearomizer end very often, but you need it to be screwed into the atomizer base. The design is really smart and really dumb at the same time. You also can't dump liquid in this thing, without making a crazy mess. Like, figured out how to do it, but it would make a real mess and be a real task for something that is supposed to be simple.

The reason Provape designed the Provari to accept only button top batteries is part of that "most well thought device". Making the positive battery contact to accept only button top batteries prevents an absent minded user from installing a battery in backwards (not a good thing to do) and firing the Provari up . Look up a term called "reverse polarity".

BTW, using magnets on flat top batteries to bypass this safety feature is dangerous, and the practice will void the warranty with Provape.

I'm not saying it's a bad design idea. I'm just pointing out that it's probably impossible that a person exists that purchased the Provari as their first device. So EVERYONE upgrading to a Provari already has a battery rotation that is now useless. I've seen a bunch of threads about people saying their Provari won't turn on...cause they shoved a flat top in there. That IS pretty dumb, but flat tops are everywhere. With a Provari purchase you are also buying a new battery rotation and throwing out the existing ones. That doesn't suck?

Edit: Also...people put batteries in their mods the wrong way? Like, this is seriously a huge problem? I'm trying to imagine this...and can't. Like, you can't save people from themselves. The .1% of mod users who are dumb enough to do this...probably don't need to own a mod? And if they did do this...it probably didn't matter and they quickly corrected them dumb selves. They don't need to own a car cause they might put the gas in the wrong hole! Who doesn't know how batteries work and their correct orientation? Mod users? Enthusiasts with a bunch of batteries laying around? That's definitely the top tier of individuals that would mess this up, in this collective of people who don't understand batteries...

You are new to the forum. There are a lot of newer vapors who are purchasing a Provari as their first mod, and even as their very first e-cig device. They have not had previous mods and collected a bunch of flat top batteries before purchasing a Provari. You are making assumptions based only on your own misconceptions.

My first mods were mechanical mods, and I learned about the safest batteries available, which happen to be AW IMR batteries. resource http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ecf-library/129569-rechargeable-batteries.html. So when I finally decided to purchase a Provari I already had a large collection of AW IMR button top batteries.

You'll be shocked at the stupid things people do with batteries:

Provari standard 2X 18350s

I removed the protection circuit in my li-ion 18650s. Stupid?

Batteries: Why so expensive? IMR vs unprotected ICR

Laptop Batteries

Battery Witchcraft

Does anyone else harvest old laptop batteries?

Vaping off a car battery?

Old Batteries
