Resistance vs. coil build guide?

I realize there are thousands of diff ways that people wrap coils...I know - but has anyone seen any helpful guide to kanthal gauge vs. coil diameter, vs. # wraps, etc, and the resulting resistance? Some spreadsheet someone out there maybe started up?

Nice - those seem very mature (Steam Engine especially) so naturally I Googled "coil calculator" because that seems obvious doesn't it? Surprise, they are right up top of the list. Well, i'm not only a noob here at ECF, but to forums in general. Its not something I usually spend time doing, however EFC seems well worth it - I picked up a lot of helpful info before ever even signing up.

So i'll Google first next time, but thank you very much Susan-S!

The links above are great but they are just a guide, it's always best to double check with an ohm meter before firing it up. The ohm meter will verify resistance and insure there is not a short somewhere.

Yes, Steam Engine is awesome... But if you have an android phone I use a free app called "Vaper's Toolbox". Easy to use and very quick to get rough ideas! It really is an excellent app!
