Rem Mod / SMPL (clone ?) Hot button.

I have had nothing but good luck with the new concave buttons. They seem to make better contact. Keeping them clean is a must though. (that includes wiping clean the bottom of the battery also.
As far as separate buttons for sale, Epic and Vaporlair had 350 & 500 tubes for sale. That's what the spare buttons are for. Smpl still sells the 350 tubes and spare buttons also.

Nope.
The free replacement buttons are meant to resolve the hot-button flaw in the initial run.
Lots of members here have had the same issue.
VL is doing the right thing by replacing them for free, but a little QC before selling them would have prevented this fiasco and saved them a ton of cash.

Amateur hour as usual in this industry.

I just picked up one of the rem Mods yesterday from Vapor Lair to replace a SMPL clone mod I broke. I asked if the button was the newer version, and they said yes, but I'm not sure if he knew what I was talking about. He said they didn't have any replacement buttons.

Anyways, I'm having significant arcing issues with mine, causing misfires and carbon build up on the button and the bottom of the battery. It even caused my VTC5 battery to start venting, so I had to toss that sucker outside in case it exploded. I double checked my rda and it has no shorts and works fine in my other mods.

I never had this problem with any of my other mods, even cheap clones. I'm going to try to return the rem mod as soon as I can because it seems dangerous.

I honeslty just went and purchased 3 smpl clones from fasttech for 50 bucks =/, i really wanted this mod because it is so nice but not willing to put 130$ on the line to see if its been fixed or not.

If you truly want the authentic unit Epic Design Studios still produces the real deal SMPL and it is available from VaporDNA, TVL makes/sells the REM 2.0 which seems to have issues.

Still not accepting to the idea of exposed brass? You almost never see the switch while it's in your hand or on the table, c'mon...you know you wana! Haha I'm just messing with you it's all good.

yeah i just ordered some smpl clones. closest thing and im sure people will throw stones at me for not buying an authentic.

Never... and especially not when it comes to the SMPL. But that's another long-winded thread.

Im at a loss with mine. I bought my REM mod from my local shop. I've sent it back to vapor lair twice. This is my 3rd button in a month and it's already arching and giving very low hits. Button heats up so fast. This button needs to go back to the drawing board. I can't work with this thing. I do not recommend this mod.

What a disaster. Maybe instead of "standing behind their authentics" by replacing a crap button with a brand new crap button (and doing further damage to people's batteries), they should go back to the drawing board and consult someone with a degree in Materials Science.

I've had no issues for the past 2 weeks with no hot button but has began arcing again. Do yourself a favor and stick with the original epic smpl mod (mine still works perfectly).
