regular cotton safe to vape?

Most people vape organic cotton. I've also vaped non-organic and sterile gauze and felt that was safe. I've switched to Japanese organic cotton or rayon now.

Just to add, if you're using cotton it makes absolutely no sense to not buy organic.
So here's the deal with regular cotton. They bleach it with hydrogen peroxide then boil it. While it is fine to use in a pinch it really sucks at wicking. Its perfectly "safe" at least as safe as organic cotton but it is quite inefficient at wicking.
Bleaching is nothing. It brings no dangers.
Some people do not like taste of regular cotton.
Some people bothered by an amount of pesticides used for non-organic cotton.
If these things are of no concern to you, you can use regular cotton.
I think all cottons you have mentioned are about the same in absorption and burn rate (cotton is cotton). Occurrence of dry hits depends on vaper's wicking mastery. Taste is subjective.
Fiber freaks is not cotton at all, it is cellulose fiber (rayon, I believe).
Having tried many of the Fancy cottons. For me it comes down to Cotton is Cotton and Rayon si just like cotton. Properly prepared and wicked. I cannot tell the difference. I just can't justify using any other than the 1-2 dollar a bag pharmacy cotton balls. Although if it where purely a question of flavor and vapor, I would chose either silica or stainless for the wick.
AFAIK non-organic cotton is bleached with chlorine bleach and organic cotton is bleached with hydrogen peroxide. In my experience both are about the same in wicking ability. Koh Gen Do and rayon wick noticeably better for me. I buy Koh Gen Do cotton here. That box lasts a looong time
I like organic cotton but the question was is regular cotton safe to vape and I know of no reason to think it's not. I also consider rayon safe to vape and that uses some nasty chemicals in its production process. But that's just me and as always YMMV
Actually I think those pharmacy cotton balls can be had organic, you just have to watch the labels. I wouldn't chose silica for good flavor. I've tried various types and it always seem to mute flavor a bit. SS on the other hand is excellent.
I've used cotton balls that you get in the drug store. Don't know if they are bleached or not. To my taste, everything that I've used has a break in period. The taste leaves after about .5 - 1ml of liquid going through the coil.

The bleaching agent varies by manufacturer and customer.. Non-organic vs Organic is about how the plant was grown not how it was cleaned.
Howe can cotton be origanic, when you consider that ALL of it is from GMO seed and plants??????
There are actually standards for organic textiles which manufacturers follow, but I don't know how well that is controlled. It's been a while since I did the research on it. The whole manufacturing process is touched on by these standards. AFAIK chlorine bleach is not allowed for organic cotton.

I find that Koh Gen Do has no break in period and rayon is almost as good. Have you tried either of these Robin?
Honestly... If it were really organically grown with no pesticides it would be full of weevils.
