So I have diligently cleaned my used cartos. Soaked them in vodka... flushed them several times after vodka soak with near boiling water. Problem is I can still faintly smell some of the the flavors. Some of them have a funny taste...not burnt tasting and they are snow white inside...it's a weird almost mildewy musty taste. it's nasty. tried using a hair dryer to facilitate internal dryness. The next time I used plain water in case it was due to the vodka. Still nasty tasting. This time I even tried baking them at 175 per another thread. I had one that seemed bone dry so I decided to dissect it ... the filler at the bottom was still wet. I really don't want to inhale mildew...

I think I am going insane...new juices all taste funny...not sure if its the higher nic (went from 18 to 24) or the cartos. Ordered 4 juices from Ms. T's who seems to have a devout fan club for having good tasting juice... these taste funny too...

Does anyone else think they taste funny after washing? I know they are supposed to be disposable anyway - and I am ok with that. In the future maybe I will refill a few times and toss them but I always like to reuse as much as possible before they hit the landfill...

I have never washed my cartos and have used them for weeks and had no problem. Perhaps the who washing thing is what is causing the funny smell and taste.

What are you vaping on that is so strong that the smell and flavor remain?

Also, you may just want to designate certain cartos for certain flavors only and label them.

I have been sitting here thinking the same thing... Pina Colada not only tastes nasty but lingers... the way a hangover does.

I think you are right ... use certain ones for certain flavors until they die ...then don't have to deal with the washing thing and still get to economize somewhat.

I once mixed up a batch of pizza flavored e-liquid and I could not get the taste of that out of my cart or my atty. I have never done it again since!
