Been vaping since 2011. Started with pen, then squonked for a while with rebuildables (man I miss that actually), then settled down with electronic box mods (convenient and I liked the variability), vaping .15 coils at 30-50 watts. That was main go to until last year when I quit. (hahahhahahhaha)

I did actually quit for a few days then was like, this is dumb, I enjoy this. But when I started back, I went to a Smok Nord .6 (no nic salts for me, I'm just an old school girl). Here's the thing, when it's right, this is perfect for me. Not too hot, not too cool, air is right, tons of flavor. I also noticed my lungs felt really good! I had not realized I had been vaping way too hot for my own tastes.

Problem is, these things are crap. I was accustomed to boxes and coils that *last*. With the nord? Half the coils are crap from the get go, one might last 2 days and if I am really lucky I'll get one that lasts 3 days. I usually have three in rotation, so I feel like I am constantly changing coils. I also miss a slightly bigger tank as I am constantly refilling. But I'd refill all the time with no complaints if the coils would just freaking last.

But they don't. They burn. They get air bubbles in them. I shake them. I draw with no power. I prime the coils. I fill it then let it sit overnight. Doesn't matter. They last about a day or two and it's driving me nuts.

Tonight the hubby handed me a regis geek vape with .15 and said stop trying to make the nords work (he's tired of me complaining I do believe).

Hit it and dang. While it's more convenient than charging, and has a bigger tank, and the flavor is good, it's hot. It hurts my lungs. I just can't do that anymore. I dialed it down to 15, and that's obviously too low and not an enjoyable vape at all. 30 - 50 still seems to be where I like the flavor, but after just a couple hits I could feel it in my chest. I don't like that at all. (I know I did for years, but...no bueno anymore.)

So, I think I'm past the chase super huge big clouds days (even though it tastes good). I just want the smooth, medium-not-hot-not-cold, juicy (but not spitting) vape of a Nord (.6) from hour 1 to about hour 36. (3 mg nic). But I want it to actually last 5 days. A week would be even better, but managing my expectations.

Does this exist?

My other thought was, maybe I should go back to tank vaping, but not .15? Maybe raise my ohm on my coils? I dunno. It's been a long time since I've had to think about vaping. And I don't want to think about vaping. I just want a consistent vape ;-)

Thoughts?

Thanks!!!

@jlazarus I understand your dilemma, but I'd definitely agree with you on going up in ohms a bit to around 0.5 ohms.

It's not too bad with the heat then and depending upon the metal used for the coil, there's the possibility for TC with a capable mod.

But one mod tank combo that has caught my eye is the Freemax Twister 30W kit with Fireluke 22 tank, as it covers a few different vaping styles with the choice of 3 different coils.

Also they're a well known company that produces some good tanks, they're a little more on the cloudy side depending upon what coil is used. And if I remember rightly the Fireluke 3 has a 0.5 ohm coil available as well.

Wow.

Maybe split the difference with a pod mod. Convenience of a pod, variable wattage for different Ohms on different coils to suit your personal tastes.

i have a Wismec R80 & am happy with it. It comes with a 510 adapter if you want to use a tank some time and it can use Voopoo PnP coils as well as Wismec WV coils. There's a built-in battery version, too; the R40. ElementVape.com has both.

The Innokin Kroma-Z and the GeekVape Aegis Boost are pod mods that have gotten very good reviews. 510 adapters are available for, but not included with, both.

The Voopoo Drag has many fans. Voopoo's Vinci line and Vaporesso's PM80 pod mods are also popular.

Seems nearly every vape company there is makes a pod mod, though. Suggest you search online & check reviews, ask at local shops, and maybe some folks here have 1st hand experience with some they could share.

BTW: i use a Nord for vaping CBD and have not had your bad experience with the coils. They've always worked fine and lasted a good amount of time. The type of e-liquid you're using may not be one the coils like. You might try a liquid with a different PG/VG ratio; higher PG if your liquid isn't that already. Also, perhaps something less sweet and/or less acidic.

I vape several different device right now, a couple squonkers, 2 types of DNA mods, one of those Nords (no coil issues although we've gone through 4 of the devices) 3 types of Pico's and many top air flow RTA's.
My faves have become the Smok (I know.. I know..) RPM 80 and the Pro with .17ohm coils(RGC) and the Voopoo Drag Max with the .3ohm coils. I have even an actual RTA for the Drag and adapters for the pods and RTA to go on normal mods, as well as adapters for normal tanks to go on the Max, as well as a couple of Drag X's coming in. My Wismec Sinuous V80 now hosts a Drag pod, and one of my Pic0 27100's has the RTA on it. I also dropped my wattage from 45-50 to 35ish for the Drag pods.

So, YMMV, but the Drag series is doing great for me.

I have the answer for you. The Vaporesso Autopod 50 with the .5 ohm coils. Coils last and are flavorful when vaper at 20-30 watts. To be honest the .25 ohm coils are also good at around 30 watts. Not too hot and good vapor production with coils that last. Read a couple reviews and see what you think but I believe this is a device that will work for you.

ETA: Ok so I found a Vaporesso site but not autopod 50. I did find autopod 50, but they are "freemax" - are these the same?

Freemax maxpod (replaceable coils), Freemax maxpod circle (non replaceable coils and the Freemax autopod 50 all has exceptional flavour. And coils last very long on light juices.
Vaporresso renova zero (non replaceable coils) has exceptional flavour as well.
I don't have other pod vapes so I can't comment on any other.

I'm a bit late on this but I want to toss in my two pennies worth anyway, whether the OP sees it or not....

From reading your story I think you need to try MTL vaping. If the big clouds and heat are not working for you anymore but the Nord tripped your trigger, that says to me...MTL. Get a setup that runs at around 1.0 ohms and vape at around 15 w. You can do any nic strength you want with MTL. You'll get a cooler vape with smaller clouds.

My own answer to that exact same dilema:
Got myself 2 Voopoo VINCI Air and got them running the Mechlife Rba.

My new mtl/dl buddies.

I'm taking a hard look at this device. I do not need one but I just want it. Several retailers are running a holiday kit special that includes a Drag X/S and a lil 17W pod device that I cannot find any info on. It's called Vmate.

I believe what they are calling VMate is the V-thru. Here is the link for more info.

V.THRU Pro Pod - VOOPOO VAPE Spark Your Moments

hope it helps
