Please don't use any battery with "fire" in the name for any vaping device, ever. If something goes amiss they can explode with more than sufficient violence to require an ER visit. Also, the protection circuit in ICR batteries can interfere with the power regulation in a VV and/or VW device.

Instead use IMR or hybrid batteries. It's still not a happy situation if they go into thermal runaway but at least they vent rather than explode. You can read more in Baditude's excellent blog, Battery Basics for Mods: IMR or Protected ICR?.

AW or Efest high drain IMRs work as well as Orbrtronic or Panasonic high drain hybrids. The high drain capability allows the boost circuitry in the VTR to work correctly.

I have an mvp2 and absolutely love it! But my backup joyetech battery finally kicked the bucket. That said I was looking to possibly get a Mod at first then realized the VTR is set up similar to a mod since you can change just this battery. So thinking a May do that and make my current workhorse/mvp2 my backup.
Looking
For general opinions and to make sure that the kanger aerotank or aspire nautilus will work with the VTR. (Noticed the setup for a tank is different but threaded the Same. Looks to go on side instead of top-which looks cool on the pics)
Also wanted to know if the VTR can charge an electronic device like the MVP2 does?
Thanks in advance.

The VTR can use the Pro Tanks within the "skeleton", however you will need to use the included extension tube with the Nautilus...no problem otherwise. For tanks to fit within the frame of the VTR they can't exceed 22mm.

The VTR has no external device charging feature unlike the MVP 2.

The VTR tends to hit "harder" than the MVP 2 and uses a different chipset internally...and will do a great job using the Nautilus tank.

i have an innokin vtr and it came with a "button top" Efest 2000mAh battery, i also have another battery which is a 2200mAh flat top and both work well in my device.
i do know that my VTR is a secong Generation device so i'm kinda wondering if yours isnt and thats what the newer version addresses

I have the same version 2 with same Efest batteries.

Mine is green. The version 2 does not have the floating 510 connecting ring that spins round when you screw your tanks in or out. This has been replaced fixed 510 connection, as there were quit a few complaints about incorrect resistance readings due to the movement in the 510 ring. the new one is fixed and has 4 air channels instead of 2 on the old design.
Have not seen a complaint about this fault since version 2 came out.
Have not tried any new tanks as yet, just using with the iClear 30s for now, when I get bored I might try the X.1 or Anyvape Davide BDC. Both fit being 19mm.
If I really must try something bigger ill look into removing that retaining ring at the top.
The one shown earlier in this thread looked really good and very neatly done, I doubt I have the skill to do as good a job.
Not going to use adapter I think it loses the whole point of why I liked it so much in the first place.
Tried my protank2 mini and felt like I was about to call in an air-strike.

Anyway I love it so far. Vapes great. Couldn't be happier.

I love mine. Usually vape around 1-1.6ohms at 6-11watts. I do like the extension because I have big hands and I like the standoff when vaping. Have not had an issue with batts...I use only unprotected 18650s. You can get them at a good price if you shop the online sales. Only thing I have that beats it is my MVP and Seven-22.
