Hmmm lots of good and interesting answers.
During the time since I started this thread, I've smoked a couple cigarettes here and there on nights out.
None the less there has been a small amount of productive phlegm.
Not huge on running, so I don't think that'll happen.
We'll see how it goes, I'm going to try to use my e-cig exclusively.

The Vitamin C inhalation is interesting, I wonder if you would get any
benefit from the vitamin as you would with ingestion.
I kinda doubt it, but who knows.

Cheers!

There are many people here, myself included, who have never coughed up anything. I was a 20+ year PAD a smoker. Since starting vaping I'm breathing better, my voice sounds lets gravelly, my taste buds have improved, and my sense of smell has improved, but I have yet to cough anything up. The body will do what it's going to do when it wants to do it...I don't think there's anything you can do to speed the process up. Just feel better knowing that you've stopped putting nasty stuff into your lungs and allowed the healing process to begin. :)

Lord, we might be the same person! I never coughed up anything either (but still hope it got out somehow) but did notice much less phlegm and a decreased need to clear my throat.

Day 38 of no analogs, and have still yet to cough up any tar or other nastiness.

And I'm on a little over my 6-month mark with only one brief slip-up. I haven't coughed tar up, but something worse happened to me. I got the most hideous case of acne. It didn't start until about month 2. Then I got these blemishes that were more like teeny boils filled with clear fluid - like a burn or a spider bite. They're just on my cheeks and neck, but the T-zone is blemish-free. They get all cleared up, then another big batch hits. This has been going on for 4 months solid. I don't see how they form with the 2 gallons of water I drink everyday. I feel like wearing a paper bag over my head just to go out and get my mail. I think I would rather coughed tar up.

Seabrook, I have noticed the same thing. The difference is I had quit smoking a long time ago, and started vaping just recently. This being the case, I think it is a reaction to an ingredient in the liquid (PG, VG, or both) that is causing this break out, not the stopping smoking... possibly a mild allergy?

Ah, maybe it's the PG? For the first couple of months, I vaped on juice I had ordered from cignot. It was VG only. Then because of all the juice sanitation issues scare, I started DIY'g with PG as the base. Thanks for the reply, I'll try VG only.

On the one hand, PG may dry your lungs and make them generate more mucus to keep them wet. That mucus may make you cough. On the other hand, some pigments of the juices you are using may stay in your lungs and make you cough to get them out. Clearer juices are better. You may try to vape straight PG to know if it makes you cough.
