I have an e go tank, type A e cig, with an 1100 mah passthrough battery. So, my question/problem is....when I got it 3 days ago I plugged it in with the wall charger into the unscrewed bottom. I let it charge for over 8 hours. The light on the wall adapter was red and always stayed red. I unplugged it and used it and it lasted well almost 3 days!!! woohoo....and while using that battery I charged up the second battery, but the same thing happened, just red light on the wall adapter. NO light has ever lit up on my e cig...not the button, not the bottom where the cord plugs in, nothing. Well, i went to plug in the first battery into the charger and the wall adapter was red, then hissed/crackled and then no more light. Im not sure if the charger has always been bad, if it could of damaged my battery, or how do I actually know it is charging?!?!? I have now plugged the same cord into my computer and still no lights?!?! any suggestions?!?

The batteries you got probably were nearly fully charged when you got them. When I was still using Ego's mine arrived charged.

The light on the wall wort is always red. The light you want to be looking at is the one on the end that attaches to your battery. It flashes a light green off and on to indicate that it is charging and eventually will go green. When you charge via USB from the computer on the old model passthru batteries there are no lights. On the newer ones (ones I bought a year or so ago and have caps that screw on over the connector to keep it clean) the bottom of the battery turns red to show it's charging and then goes out when it's fully charged.

As to the hissing and crackling on the wall wort, it's fried. You need a new one.
