I just received my provari and am trying it out. It appears to work with a 3 ohm atty. But it won't work with a 1.5 ohm atty. I set the voltage on the provari to its lowest setting, which is 3.3 volts. I connected a low res ego-t atty using the ego adapter. I measured the resistance of the atty as 1.5 ohms. I get error code "e2", which indicates current overload. I understand the provari overloads at 2.5 amps. The 3.3 volt, 1.5 ohm combination should only draw 2.2 amps.

Is my provari defective?

First check to make sure the battery and the battery contacts are clean, then clean them anyway. This has worked for me in the past when I was pushing slightly over 2 amps and the E2 error popped up even though I should have been south of 2.5.

Also I found that a dry atty is more likely to trip the over current protection than a wet one.

Did ya try another Atty ? Like Hoosier stated it will happen if you dont keep em wet enough too. pull off the top tip of that Atty and put 3 drops in it and see what happens, should fire, if not check your atty with a meter and see if it truly 1.5 just because it says it is 1.5ohm's doesn't mean it is, you could have a 1.3ohm possibly. also try another regular Atty and another regular LR and see what happens.
