Wasn't sure if I should post this in the atomizers subforum or the cartomizers subforum, since it applies to both. I'll let a moderator decide where it should go.

To cut a long story short, I went from an eGo-T with a clearomizer as my starter kit, onto a KGo VV, then a Torpedo VVV. I did away with clearomizers early on, so I primarily dripped for about two months... I love dripping, but it can be inconvenient, so I switched to the SmokTech DCT carto tank, with a 1.8 low res 1-hole carto. Oh, I forgot to mention, when dripping, I used a low res 1.8 ohm joyetech atty.

I keep my volts between 3.7-4.2. Sometimes I've ventured into 4.5 territory, but not for too long. So, these low res attys/cartos are supposed to be short lived, especially on VV devices. Well, the attys have lasted me months, and the cartos up to week (which I understand is nominal for cartos).

Well, I kept seeing these charts and reference graphs for which resistance atty/carto goes best with which voltage. So, not having any high resistance gear, I ordered two high resistance, 3.0 cartos for my DCT tank. Eager to flex my Torpedo's muscles, I switched from my low rest carto to the high res carto. I waited several minutes after priming it (inside the tank with juice, 70 pg/30 vg mix). I started low, around 3.8 volts. It tasted horrible. I bumped it up slowly, at each increment, and when I finally got to 5 volts, it felt like I was inhaling fire and exhaling... well, it tasted horrible.

So, what am I doing wrong here? Supposedly what me and my fellow coworkers who vape are doing with our low res attys is impossible, i.e., using low-res attys on vv devices and having them work for months on end, whereas me and the same guys order high res stuff, follow directions, and each and every one of us get the same results.

I claim ignorance and user error on our part. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
