Well none of my flavoring have gone bad, but if i saw black gunk, id just chuck it. Black gunk doesn't not sound like something good to me.
If this is their tobacco then it is an absolute (as long as it came from a tobacco concrete, but I digress). They make no mention of what the product will arrive like. Many of us know what TA is and how much of a mess it can be to work with, but I really think NN missed the boat on explaining the details of this and producing a product that comes looking more like it came out of lab than out of someone's waste. This is what their site says about it (assuming the liquid in question was this):
"This is an ‘Absolute’ extract from select fresh flue-cured tobacco leaves. Our extraction process yields a flavor extract absent of nicotine*, nitrosamines, diacetyl, and other harmful ingredients present in combusted tobacco or other extracted tobacco products. Enjoyable mellow and nutty notes of tobacco with none of the combusted taste of a normal cigarette. A true gem in its own light. We worked hard on this one, and hope you enjoy the fruits of our labor as much as we do!
*Our tobacco absolute extract is absent of nicotine, and can be truly formulated to 0mg/mL if required. We utilize a similar process to that of the decaffeination of coffee beans to remove trace nicotine from our product. However, please be advised, other minor tobacco minor alkaloids present in any extract will potentially result in a failed conitine test.
That last underlined part (emphasis mine) was actually recommended to them by me when DVap and I talked to the Jaker about his former claim of calling this product WTA.
With some of this stuff, like D45 just mentioned, a lot of DIYers actually have more of handle on it then the vendors, which tells a lot about some of our DIY Gurus. I've learned more from reading blogs like D45's then talking with some of these vendors.

Here's a Question:
If you went to the Grocery Store and bought something and it had Black Sludge in the bottom and Sticking to the sides of the Bottle, would you Eat it?
If Not. Why would something you are going to put in your Lungs be held to a Lower Standard?
I've seen this with tobacco flavors that were made with absolutes, NET's, natural tobacco extracts and essences. If you say these flavorings are tobaccos this could be the case. This happens when the fore mentioned are not desolved properly. These should be made in a 50pg/50PGA base solution. This can also happen when the base is over saturated with the fore mentioned and it is normal for these types of flavors to seperate but they don't seperate when mixed into the finished ejuice. There fine to use and a good shaking is all thats needed but contact NN just to be sure this is the case. Those types of flavors make some of the tastiest tobacco vapes.
I totally agree, nicely put. But if this is the case I think the point here is as far as the OP is concerned is "Is it safe" and I would have to say yes. But I do agree they need to go back to the drawing board in there preparation and marketing approach. If I were a new comer to DYI and I saw something like that it would concern me as well.
I've seen some similar, but not quite that bad unless it was made form some DIYer or some vendor that didn't know how to dilute their TA. And part of what gets me is that NN has this appeal of being "lab quality" but this type of product goes out? I don't know. I get the differences between some "flavorings" and nic, but damn!
If it is TA in VG, I'm amazed it mixed that well....
I looked at the pictures and thought I looked like TA, didn't see anything too weird. I dilute my TA in ethanol before use to keep that effect to a minimum.
Give NN time to get geared back up fro the holidays and get their answer. Emails can be scheduled to sent out at specific dates years in advance, so getting a sales notice doesn't mean much.
Understood Hoosier! So do Tobacco flavors generally take a while to mix properly in the final product? Thanks so much for your time and information.![]()
eek so the flavoring could be 6-8 months old? I've heard to toss it if it's been on the shelf for 12months?! I hope they contact me soon, I'm very anxious at this point, and a bit upset as the information flows in.. Thanks for the valuable input!I agree & disagree with some; it is true TA does that but it is also true it does after a long time of storage. Meaning from my point of view that
1) That is not a fresh product (and i don't mean 1 or 2 months old), 2)It should not be vaped, even if it is ok to vape it, because those tobacco components are very hard (if possible) to dilute back, so you will be using a "watered" (pge'd) down version of it. 3) By all means contact seller and tell them you want to return that product. Simply, not good. I've never received a tobacco absolute like that, although some i didn't like turned that way after 6-8 month of shelf life. I am sure NN will make it right.
For sure Art; even if it would OK after redissolving and re-blending, the customer should not have to do that, if it is advertised as ready to use.
[edit] And FWIW, I was planning on trying one of their tobacco extractions (almost pulled the trigger today), but now I will wait to see how this turns out. As I've said before, any vendor can have a problem, but it is how they resolve problems that separates good vendors from bad ones.
So the flavoring is fubar. No, doesn't take time to mix. They may take awhile to meld, flavor wise, but not mix.
So the flavoring is fubar.
I've yet to receive a response from nude nicotine. I will keep you guys updated.
Thanks again! <3
Well I finally got Jake of nude nicotine on the phone! I explained the problem we talked for a bit, he seems like a nice, highly intelligent person. He stated he will be sending out new flavoring, and even a new 50ml batch of nicotine! Some nicotine was wasted in the batch, 25ml nic,18mg STR, in an 50ml bottle, using a 50/50 mix. **these numbers are off the top of my head**
Should this have happened, NO, but things do happen and he stood by his product. He went into great detail about how the flavoring is made, what might have happened, and that the flavoring is still safe regardless of the sediment. With that being said I'm still a bit worried if I'll get the product replacement or not. He informed me the contact and or ordering form on the NN website actually goes to a different e-mail addy and or server. I don't understand why I didn't get a reply after using this form and explaining the problem?! I may have misunderstood him as we also experienced some troubles with the phone call.
(go figure)
Until I physically get the product I'm still a little concerned. Now it's back to the waiting game, I will update you guys when or if I get the new items.
Again thanks for your time and valuable info!
Cheers![]()
Not a problem. I am very sleepy and editing the heck out of my previous post, you may want to re-read it. Sorry about that! Thanks for keeping us up-to-speed.
