Problems with elite 808

I bought the elite 808 e-cig from cigeasy and i have had it for 1 to 1 1/2 months and one of the batteries has quit working.. i had the same problem with my gogo. I very much liked both my cigeasy products, but am wondering what is going on that they quit working so soon. Do any of the veteran vapes out there have any advice on what could be making my units die so quickly or do any of you vets have suggestions as to what ecigs out there are good for a heavy vaper?

I really like the 808 size and love the elite 808 whistle tip carts!! I just need an ecig that will last more than 2 or 3 months.

Advice is very appreciated. It gets expensive replacing the units every few months...

I really don't and I'm sorry to hear your having bad luck with your batteries. Are either one still under warranty, or have you tried contacting them? I assume you aren't using some sort of carto on them that's LR, right? That'd be the only reason I could think of.

I just checked and it looks like they only have a 7 day warranty. Which sorta sucks. I'd still contact them.

Thanks for responding. I am using the carts sold for use on the Elite 808. If you can suggest a good unit for a heavy vaper that has a battery that will last longer than a few months, I would appreciate feedback.

Did you try the suggestion in that thread about adjusting the battery. That does happen with mine sometimes and also with my mom's KR808. The little button on the battery gets pushed in from putting it on the charger and screwing cartos on.

I use an ego. My mom uses a KR808 sometimes, she has some volt batteries and V4L batteries. Anytime she ever had a problem with her V4L batteries, they exchanged them immediately. Even before she sent them back.

The Elite looks great! But that 7 day thing is for the birds!

In my experience with the 808 models, is the middle post on the battery getting pushed down too far to make a contact for charging or a cartomizer. Raise it with a strong pin, working around the post. The other thing i have had is the "flash of death". After full charging, when the light turns green (or blue), the batt just flashes when depressed. THEN the battery is definitely gone and trash.

Okay. I just raised the post and it didn't work. SubOnAux24 or Swedishfish, can you suggest another place to purchase a good unit from that has quick delivery? I don't really expect Cigeasy to help me. When I had issues with my GoGo dying after 2 months things got pretty heated between myself and the folks at Cigeasy and I have to admit - I lost my composure and acted a bit of a jerk. After hearing good reviews about the new elite 808, I purchased one. Obviously, I am gun shy and would like to see if I can get some referrals to another supplier. I am a HEAVY vaper.

I don't really blame you, they aren't cheap and it can be frustrating. How much are you looking to spend?

I can only tell you what I use and my experiences. I have no experience with mods or anything like that.

I use a Joye Ego. Also have a Riva, one from Mad Vapes and a VV ego.

Liberty Flights has a 2 month warranty on batteries. Mine actually lasted over 6 months. I have had a couple issues with my Mad Vapes batteries - pushed in button thing. But they work fine.

I'd recommend Liberty Flights to purchase from. Cignot is also a good supplier. They have a 60 day warranty on batteries.

Sometimes in the long run you're better off with a mod. Maybe more costly up front but some have a lifetime warranty. Maybe someone can tell you about that.

Just remembered- how about an epower? It's an ego style but batteries are super cheap to replace.

Thanks for the feedback. After posting I started surfing the board and found a unit called the KGo from Hoosier. It seemed to get consistently good feedback, so I ordered one last night. Fingers crossed and now I am excited waiting for my new unit to arrive!!

1. Never buy auto batteries - it's just asking for trouble if you refill cartomizers

2. Never screw anything on or in (charger, carto, etc) further than necessary to make contact and work. If you screw things or in further you can depress the center post of the battery and make things no longer electrically connect. And attempting to lift the post can end up in ruining the battery.

3. Always wipe off the threads of your battery with tissue before putting it in a charger or PCC

4. Provide a stable power supply for charging. I do not use a PC to charge - some people have damaged ecig equipment by getting a static shock on their keyboard. It's also hard to keep separate AC to USB things straight (some put out more than enough mA for any battery cable i.e. 500mA same as standard USB and some put of less and should only be used with slim batteries - you need to keep them matched up right). Instead I buy 4-port 2amp USB to AC adapters (will charge any 4 batteries). And never use a PT on the same AC to USB where you are charging batteries.


I use KR808D-1 (like your 808 threading) manual batteries from Vapor4Life (somewhat sealed inside, normal size button) and SmokelessImage Volt (totally sealed threaded end, tiny button). The safest from juice leaks are the Volt ones but the Vapor4Life ones let you take a longer drag (10 second cutoff vs 5 second cutoff)

I use Riva 510 from Liberty-Flights.com as my big battery device because the kits there are now all 3.7v. I use Boge cartomizers with that but there are bigger more exotic cartos. 510 threading has the most stuff. And since it's 3.7v like the KR808D-1, I can use a 510 to 808 adapter and vape the KR8 cartomizers on it too and get the same heat.

Dormouse...I'm still pretty new to all the ecig jargon, but I think the KGo is basically the same thing as a 510 - please, correct me if I'm wrong. I liked this unit because if the battery dies, I can replace it easily. Also, the KGo has an 1100 maw battery for less charges throughout the day. What exactly is a boge? All this jargon has my head spinning! ;-) I bought several kinds of cartos to go with my new unit. I bought some XXL 1.5 ohm, dual coils 1.25 ohm...along with the awesome DeKang ejuice! What are your thoughts on the carts I purchased? Oh, and what is an atomizer used for??

Kgo should be like Ego and Riva 510 - I am just not sure of the threading of Kgo (I think 510 threading)


Boge is the most popular brand of cartomizers for 510 threaded devices - simple stuffing cartomizers that just work. Almost all cartomizers for 510 threaded devices are blank cartomizers. You can usually get 5-packs of them at LiteCigUSA.net or Liberty-Flights.com and once you figure out if you like 3 ohm (somewhat warm, maybe more flavor comes through) or the 2 ohm (hotter so more hit,probably a bigger drag, uses charge up faster), then you can get 15 at a time cheaper at Crystal Clear Vapor

I can usually get 10+ days use out of a Boge by keeping it damp but I do use what I think are optimal juices (PG w/ 20% or less VG, often 10% or less, and I won't use juices that drop flavoring sediment in the stuffing)

Cartomizers are like what you used on the 808 (one piece cart with internal atomizer, screw on the battery)

If your Kgo is 510 threaded, a 510 to 901 adapter from Goodprophets (99 cents) should also let you use them on the Kgo. I am pretty sure that is the adapter I use on my Riva 10 to vape my 808's cartos. 901 is the same threading as KR808D-1 but different airflow. That adapter seems to have enough airflow for 808 cartos.

A 510-threaded device is likely to come with separate atomizer and cartridges that are just stuffing and plastic. But most people use 510-threaded cartomizers of various kinds for their favorite juices (hold more, keep your flavors separate, etc - like you are used on the 808)
