I'm so frustrated I could scream...
Last night I saw a YouTube video about rewicking your coils with cotton. It boasted the improvement in flavor, etc... And I have extra coils so I tried.

What followed was less than satisfying. I used cotton balls advertised as pure 100% cotton. Bought them especially for this. I rewicked with a cotton wick and a cotton flavor wick. The man in the video said he didn't need a flavor wick with cotton, but I had read that without a flavor wick, u get no taste. Plus without one the wick hole wasn't filled and it was sure to leak all over.

I got smell but very minimal flavor at first, then it improved and I was impressed. But by the end of work today, it tasted like crap. Actually it tasted like nothing.

I have two kangertech t3s using 2.2 ohm coils with a butterscotch flavor in one, and another called zombie blood (it's strawberry gummy candy with lots of menthol) and at work I use a smoktech winder 900 mAh set to 4.4 volts. At home I use the same t3s with 2.2 ohm coils on a smoktech Aro Winder battery. It's vv/vw 2000 mAh and set to 9 watts.

Anyway, I came home and tinkered with more cotton, but can't get any flavor at all from either juice. I can smell them but no taste. Also with the cotton wicks the vape clouds were really thick at first but dwindled by today. I've been fooling around with this all evening, and can't get a flavor from anything with a cotton wick. I got frustrated and just now replaced the entire coil in each one and left the silica wick in that they came with, but still no flavor! What happened? I hate the factory wicks because they always leak, but they had a better flavor than my attempt at cotton, but now I can't taste anything at all from anything. Getting decent clouds that taste like silica and shame...

Vapors tongue, its not uncommon, especially early on.

You over stimulated your taste buds and now you're not tasting the juice, im sure people will be along to recommend various fixes. Sometimes a simple brushing of the teeth/using mouthwash can reset them. Others recommend spicy things or even pickles. Either way it will eventually pass.

You may be having a stroke...

I say this not having read more than a sentence into your post because of the missing paragraph structure, sorry.

Useless post, if you can't be bothered to read, why even reply?

Some people post from their phones. It can be hard to format correctly when using a mobile device.

OP - a flavor wick doesn't give more flavor as such. It's there to prevent juice splashing up from the coil and to prevent flooding. If you aren't getting leaks or juice splatter, you don't need it.

Cotton builds are tricky. Just a little too much and you will mute the flavor. Just a little too little, and you'll have flooding issues. Now because you said that vapor production is down as well, I think the issue is you are using just a little too much cotton.

This happens because as the cotton swells in the coil it blocks the feed of the juice. So the first two or three hits will be good, but then it will reduce its performance. Rebuilding clearomizer heads is really a trial and error process - more so when you use cotton.

Failing that, as poster above said - you could be experiencing the first signs of vapers tongue. You can help this by doing what he suggested, eating a lemon, vaping a new juice eating something spicy etc. Drinking more water as you vape can help too.

Vape fatigue possibly?

How long you been vaping?

About week 2 after I quit smoking and was only vaping I had an experience with "vape tongue".
It lasted about 3 days and totally sucked but went away.
I tried all the "tricks": pickle juice, mouthwash, etc and can't say they worked all that well.

Haven't experienced since but I
1) drink plenty of water or liquids to stay hydrated
2) consider having a couple of different flavors with you and switch them up throughout the day

But I can still taste food and my soda I'm drinking right now though.. Why is it only the e-liquid?

Because you've likely over loaded your taste buds with the same flavor(s), its actually a VERY common, just google "Vapors Toungue ECF" and see how many threads/discussion are out there.

Why it happens with e-juice specifically, i don't know, but generally it only happens earlier on, or when you make a large change in delivery device/performance/wick type. Also over time it seems you build up a "tolerance" to a flavor and won't have flavor loss problems.

For example when i first started vaping again, i had terrible vapors tongue with my juice, after it passed i continued to vape the same juice(i vape only 1 juice about 95% of the time) for the last year without experiencing it again.

True enough, I'm feeling extra belligerent today. I could have at least started with "Google Vapors Tongue" as a preface, alas. On the other hand, looks like he went back and put in some breaks, so it may have saved future readers some eye strain and possibly elicit more responses than in its original state.

Its just a pet peeve of mine. If you're asking other people to spend their time helping you, don't you think it behooves you to at least invest a little time in written etiquette... if that's not a thing, it should be.

True. Didn't really consider this.

@ OP:
Here are a couple helpful links I found when I was looking into this that have suggestions for remedies:

So should I continue to vape? I have been using snus pouches the rest if the evening and figured I'd try it in the AM when I get up but idk what I'm gonna do at work.. I can't do the snus thing all day it gives me heartburn.

I don't wanna smoke. Should I just keep on vaping and ignore it? I drank lots of water and tried lemon juice and coffee grounds as well as brushing my teeth and rinsing with mouthwash, and only got barely noticeable results.

I'm kinda unclear about if I should ignore it and just let it pass, or if I should give vaping a break so I'm not exposed to these flavors.. I'm a new vaper and these are the only flavors I have right now.

This is what makes me think it's a wicking issue and not a vaper tongue issue. If you aren't getting the same amount of vapor then you are not getting the same amount of flavor.

So by all means follow those giving advice about vapers tongue, but my money is on using less cotton and you'll improve the flavor.

Of course it could be a combination of both, or neither...

Most likely because e liquid is actually just very delicately flavored air. I had vapors tongue for 2 weeks solid but could still taste food just fine. The ONLY instance where I could tell my taste was effected otherwise was with my coffee.. I needed some extra sweetener.

People will give you all kinds of crazy remedies, and feel free to try them but don't be surprised if they don't work. Patience! It WILL come back.

Some hardcore menthol got me through - boring, but I managed.
