PG/VG ratio for eGo-T atty

Hello,
I am e-cig vaper for more than 6 months, but brand new in world of mixing e-liquids. I decided to make my own e-liquids, so I have one question for eGo-T users.
What is the best PG/VG (or PG/VG/Water) ratio for good liquids. I'm asking because so far I used only pure PG liquids and was most satisfied with them. Recently I ordered ready e-liquids from Inawera, who are 80%PG - 20%VG. All of my 3 eGo-T atties becomes very hot after minutes of vaping, liquid flow is very bad and wick gets totally dry. Liquids from FA, traditional base(50%PG - 40%VG - 10% water), have a very good liquid flow: good vapour and no heating of atty.

Could this 10% of water really make such a big difference? How should I mix bases my liquids for eGo-T atty to avoid heating/liquid flow problems?

Thank's in advance.

You want your nicquid to be about 70 Pg/30 Vg. It is thick enough no to run out when the atty is hot but thin enough to wick. You can use other ratios but always thin to the consistency of 70/30. I currently use all Vg with usually 20% flavor and 10 to 15% water. When you drip a drop out you want it to spread out a bit but still stay a drop, if that makes sense. I have no problems using thinned Vg in my ego-t. :)

Funny you mention this -- I'm about 2 weeks into being an Ego-T user, and have tried (almost) both extremes.

All this on LR atomizers, first Type A, then Type B.

I did not have leakage issues with 100% PG that I briefly vaped with it, but was also using the silicone caps from cignot. (May or may not have been a factor.)

Actually, for that matter, I have used the silicone caps 100% of the time.

I have done quite a bit of 80%PG also with no problems.

However, I prefer more vapor.

The very first thing I vaped with this was BWB Malty. It's 70% VG, and as Wil notes, it was amazingly thick even for that ratio -- I have a friend who claims he only does 100% VG in his Ego-T, but his juice never looks as thick as Malty to me. I had some issues with wicking (would get a dry/burned hit every so often if I rushed it), but wrote that off to inexperience. I ran out of it right away (was almost out when I got the Ego) and just got more today. More on that in a sec.

For most of the past week I have been vaping 50/50 Lemonade from Mister E-Liquid. Vapor production has been pretty nice, no problems wicking, and it was really just a very brain-dead experience -- I could hit it as hard and often as I wanted to.

Today (like 2 hours ago) I switched back to Malty (my running favorite liquid), but also put on a brand new Atomizer -- not sure if this was a factor.

I have struggled a bit during these past couple of hours to get consistent hits that don't taste burned, but I forgot to prime it, and was so excited to have Malty again that I was hitting it a lot at first. I used some of the tricks that have been suggested to jump start the wicking, suffered through clearing the burned taste, and it seems OK now -- but it does seem that I *may* be on the edge of what I can expect it to wick reliably with regard to thickness. It definitely requires me to think about HOW I hit it in a way that the 50/50 Lemonade did not -- in particular that I try to continue pulling on it for about a second after each hit to help prime for the next hit.

I'll post an update if I find the secret to consistency with the 70/30 Malty - I hope I do, I really stocked up on it this time!

ive found that 60/40 (PG/VG) or higher ration of PG works best with the ego tanks. 70/30 or 80/20 seem to be the sweet spot though. you can also try to adjust the wick to how thick your juice is by either moving it up or down. honestly though i gave up on using the tanks and finally got my wife to as well. i never had any leaking or other issues some people have with them but just didnt like cleaning them. i now use cartos of some variation. good luck.

if your not using them now you should really try the LR egot attys.

When you're talking the eGo-T, there are so many factors that one needs to consider, beyond the liquid viscosity... I've yet to find ONE ATTY that didn't need to be adjusted out of the factory wrapper...

Once they're properly adjusted they're great, but they just don't work right out of the package. I smoke exclusively 70/30 that I mix myself, but I suspect that the mix isn't nearly as important as having the wick adjusted properly. They all either leak or dry-hit out of the package.

Check out Vicky's (Cignot) videos on YouTube. It's the only way I was able to make mine work appropriately. Be warned, though, I find the wicks difficult to adjust without removing the spike plate from the cylinder, which is much easier on a type-b...

I usually try to be modest, but let's say that I'm an expert in eGo-T atties :) My problem is for sure not related to bad positioned wick or so.
No kidding, I made some tutorials on our local e-cig forums about cleaning eGo-T atty and positioning of wick.
They are related to 2 videos made by Vicky, because her video of cleaning atty is good but incomplete. Video of adjusting wick is total failure, people literally understand that there is a mesh hat on top of the wick, attempt to adjust wick by pulling it with tweezers and destroy the wick.

I am thinking of translating them to English, it could be very usefull thing. But proper translation requires some better English than mine :)

Back on topic, I saw some posts on this forum where people say that there is "thin" and "thick" VG. My opinion is that this VG from Inawera liquids is too thick, so I'll try to use their PG base with some other VG, or in worst case: mix it with some destilled water to get adequate thickness.
