I swear this thread came about from people believing the hyped up trash talking pseudo social scientists on the so called "news" channels.

It is almost as if the public are scared that James Bond is going to get them.

What 13ways is telling you is very true. People do occasionally attempt to blow things up. Sometimes they even use some pretty standard over the counter stuff to do it.

I think your far more likely to get killed by a dodgy sandwich on a plane than by James Bond.

I would like to add, without going into too much detail for obvious reasons, this guy "could" have been stopped. It is not that he couldn't have been stopped, it is just that he wasn't.

Luck has something to do with it. It isn't like he had discovered some new funkytastic way of blowing up a plane. In plain language, he just tried an old method that requires a certain amount of luck in order for him to get as far as he did.

Lets just say, it does not really matter where the explosives were or how hard he tried to hide them. He just made a high risk move and almost succeeded.
