    i use a vaporesso target 200.
my old coil started feeling burnt so i swapped it for the new one because i had been using that one for a month and whenever i cleaned it it didnt help anymore, but then i swapped it for the new one and it tastes burnt too unless its only at 30 wattage. which is a problem because thats too weak for me and also not the reason i got a bigger vape. im using the same liquids, it happens no matter how charged the vape is. it only goes away for about 3-5 pulls if i soak the cotton on the coil myself (by taking it out and dropping the liquid on the cotton). and obviously i cant do that all the time because taking it out would make the liquid pour out (i think at least). i havent noticed anything different so im lost on what the problem could be. ive tried different settings on the airflow, the new coil is supposed to be best at 55, i let the liquid soak, i shake the vape before taking a pull to try and soak the coil, idk. please help me out here im so desperate its insane. could i be screwing something back on wrong or something?

edit: to clarify, the new coil tasted burnt right away even though i let it soak

I don't know the gear you have, and I vape at around 12W, so I'm not an expert. However I've read here innumerable times that the way to figure out a new vape is to start at low power and slowly work up. When it starts to taste bad drop the power back down a little and you have your answer. The power range given by the manufacturers is often excessively high, often stuff can't be vaped at the power level they suggest for the coil. Maybe you need a different setup to give you the vape you are hoping for. There are plenty of folks here who vape at higher power levels who might have suggestions..

Another thing I've read is that when you find a power that doesn't taste burnt, 30W in your case, you should stick there for a while to let the coil and wick get broken in. After that you might be able to start raising the power again. I don't understand the reason why that would work though.

Apart from that you've already tried everything I could suggest.

    good luck

One other thought. Burning can result from not enough juice on the wick. Maybe the juice you have is particularly thick. You could add a few drops of distilled water to thin it out. Another technique I've used myself is to inhale for a moment before and after you hit the button. I've used that technique. It helps the wick stay saturated.

the second thing u suggested here seems to somewhat work, thanks. ive been using this vape for a month on 60 watts until the old coil started tasting burnt so i really dont understand what went wrong but its a bummer. i used the same brand of liquid at the same strength the entire time. i might try the distilled water too

is it somehow possible i couldve done something to the batteries? only thing besides a different liquid flavor that i remember doing before it started tasting burnt the first time is that i charged it up fully and used a cable that i have lying around because i couldnt find the one specifically for the vape.

Not likely. I've never heard of batteries causing coil damage, as the mod is regulated and prevents overdischarge of the batteries. If you had the wattage set too high for the coil, it could've burned the coil out with the first fire. Manufacturers recommendations are only guidelines. I always start at the bottom of the range and gradually increase the wattage to my desired level. You shouldn't go above the upper limit, but going below the lower limit is acceptable. The cord isn't an issue as almost all mods use standard usb-micro b or usb-c ports. I rarely use the cables that come with the devices, as they are often too short and too cheap.

Hello Jelly....and Goog morning! I thought about yuor problem in my dream allnight and I have some question and a possible solution. First: wich resistance do have the coil yo're using and wich atty you're vapin' on? It's an RDA or a Tank? I suspect that, as you're startin out in vapin', you don't build the coil by yourself or not? If you rebuild by yourself might be not enough cotton. Second: do you poor the e-liquid with the new coil and start vapin'right the way or do you let the cotton absorbs for some minutes? Just my 2 cent on it! Have a good one...Puuuuffff

i actually mightve figured it out. either my last coil was faulty or it just wasnt good for my liquid or something .. my first coil that worked fine for a month was a 0.2 and a different material, the second one that instantly started feeling burnt was a 0.4. so i got two new coils, both 0.2 like the first one, and they instantly work fine and have been working fine with no burning. fixed!

I'm glad it's worked out. You most likely had the wattage too high for the 0.4.

Take the burnt tasting coil out and thoroughly rinse out the tank parts and glass in hot water and then dry everything off and make sure you get all traces of water out. Use paper towels and q-tips. Prime a new coil by dripping juice on the cotton wicking and soaking it good. Put it back together and fill up. When you burn a coil it leaves a burnt taste in the tank and make a new coil taste burnt. Most drop in coils are generally good for 2 to 3 weeks, depending on how much you vape. A month is pushing it and that's probably why the cotton burnt. Vape on!
