For the past few months I have been experiencing very oily skin, i can wash my face and in 30 min its oily again, and notice quit a bit of blackheads, I vape a 80pg/20vg ratio most of the time. Iv been vaping for almost a year now don't remember it being this bad for the first 6 months. Just wondering to if anyone else has the problem or if something else may be going on, may need to see a dermatologist. Its pretty much my face only.

I have always had oily skin, but I have noticed an increase since I started vaping. Usually I only have occasional acne, but now it is frequent. About ten months is how long I have been vaping. It is a trade off for me, better health for oily skin. I have to wash my face more frequently and I use (this probably sounds silly) facial masks to tighten my pores. Also when I wash my face I rinse with really cold water to help tighten my pores. Until I saw your post, I hadn't thought it was annoying and that there is probably nothing i can do about it other than what I just said.

well good to hear im not alone, i will try getting a facial cleanser. It must be from the vapor like it builds up on car windows and other stuff but yes I do agree is managable, and its worth it because im not smoking. I just needed to know if anyone else had an increase so i wasn't thinking it was some other problem.

I'm 63 and was a heavy smoker (3 packs per day) for 46 years.

I was a total greaseball. I'd take a shower and then feel like I'd been dipped in Wesson Oil half an hour later. I'd get greasy yellow dandruff unless I was religious about shampooing at least once per day. Seldom did I not have a population of zits, especially on my scalp. You get the picture, I'm sure.

Then, about 10 years ago, the greasies slowly went away over about six months. I figured I was finally getting over adolescence. :thumb:

But I started vaping in March 2011. Within a month, the greasies returned, along with the scalp zits and everything else. I figure it's a minor tradeoff: the benefits of vaping but with the greasies vs. smoking and no greasies. Seems like a no-brainer to me. Now, where's that Clearasail?

Hey I just posted about this in another thread so sorry for the dupe post! I, too, have had oily skin all of my life - I'm 47. When I read about quit zits prior to my kits arrival - this was alarming for me! At the end of my first week, I scheduled a facial and I've never had a facial. I told the chick I had quit smoking and so I got a deep cleanse/exfoliation/extraction session. The extractions were fabulous - she had some really cool little tools to get the stuff we can't - no matter how hard we try! This really worked wonders for my skin! I don't plan on having regular facials - but I do think a few times a year is not a bad idea now that I've had one. It's really pretty awesome. I don't think it matters man or women because men have skin on their face too and face the very same issues. I have not had any quit zits - which is amazing to me because I have always been a zit magnet.

I did get really serious about drinking water with vaping also - and my intake has been no less than 70oz per day. Lately, I've been doing 80. A good skincare regimen is always a good idea too! About 6 months before I quit smoking - I priced out skin care lines because I didn't want to spend a freakin fortune to take care of my skin. After alot of research, I went with Avon's Anew skin care line. (I have since learned a lot about Avon which has entirely amazed me.) I do alot of online shopping and always check the reviews and I can't say I have ever seen a product that received 1000 reviews, much less 4000-5000+ reviews and when products are still rated a 4.5-5 out of 5 - you know you're onto something good. Anew has made a total difference in my skin - which has really changed for the better.

Just thot I would offer up a suggestion - dudes do not avoid a facial just because you think they are for women only....you will love the experience....you get a nice shoulder/neck rub too!

Ok, know I will get the avid folks crawl me (but don't really care lol) - my skin is now constantly greasy (past oily, it is like a film of grease). Even as a teen my skin wasn't oily. There is no anwer other than that it is the result of vaping (which I have done now for just shy of 6 months, mostly VG). It worries me - not so much that greasiness, but what it may mean in other ways (like the word is consistently that there is no oil, or not appreciable amounts that could enter my lungs - but if there's this much on my face from the vapor it is becoming VERY hard to believe it is not also greasy in my lungs). I take great care of my skin and use quality products (have done both long before I started vaping).

I have been a strong supporter of vaping and happy with my experience - but I am not brain dead and my brain says to me that I may need to cease and desist faster than I would prefer :-(

P.S. There is no way for me to say this is a byproduct of quitting since that was six mo ago and the problem has become worse rather than better.

Hey Beez - I've had an oily complexion my entire life. Is there any reason you havent tried PG juices? I'm using mostly either 80/20 or 70/30 (pg/vg). I'm thinking you must have a great personal reason for no PG..so no offense meant! I've read quite a few posts where ppl who vape VG exclusively comment on the fact that they seem to be getting thin films of oil everywhere..on desk/monitor/windows, etc. Makes sense it would be on the skin too.
