So I got the ohmega BMC box mod for my birthday with a triforce sub ohm tank. I filled it with juice left it for 20 mins then tried it. It seems to get really hot and makes me cough. I tried a mouth inhale and still is killing me. Its a 3 mg booberry juice . I tried to Google to see if I was just using the wrong tank. It was recommended by the shop owner I couldn't find the specs on this box either other than its MOSFET protected. I'm not a newb vaper but its my first time with one. Also the triforce am I supposed to prime the wick? I just filled tank and let it sit. Any help would be appreciated

Did you get the series BMF box? There's a good chance that tank just can't handle the voltage going to the coil.

As for priming, it's almost always a good idea to do it.

Well, since this box comes in either series or parallel would think that the battery lay out would tell you which one it is. Speaking for myself would not run a sub ohm tank on a unregulated box, only a dripper with a good build on it to handle it.

Again, this is very incorrect.

It's not recommended to use prebuilt coils on mechanicals for a number of reasons. However if you understand mechs and ohms law, and match the resistance to the device, be sure the contact is safe, it's fine.

I use a Bellus tank on everything from cherry bombers to tube mechs, around .3 ohms.

Also I was told this box runs on tanks just fine and he sold this setup before but then again ppl lie to sell. I figured I would come here cuz this forum helped me a lot when I first started out. Couldn't remember my old login though

What did the at store say when you bought it?
The BMF comes in either series or parallel.
There is a huge difference.


You need to know the difference to be safe and quite frankly the shop was very irresponsible of they didn't exam this to you.
Mechs are not for beginners.


Series doubles the voltage.

It's pushing double the voltage through the coil.
You need a higher resistance build.
Id start around .8 or higher.

It's too high for the coil and wick.

@ bad ninja, wow did you even bother reading my post? Still would not run a sub ohm tank on a mech since it's just my opinion so if you want to have at it. I like to build my own coils on my dripper(rda) to get a good build for the device I am using. Also my opinion that sub ohm tanks are built to use on regulated mods and not mechs.

I run a Bellus all day on an Able.
The Able is a pinless mechanical.
Perfectly safe and never a problem.
I understand my gear and know exactly what I'm doing, and how to use it safely.

The main issue here, is running a low build on an unregulated series mod, not how much juice it holds.

I'll agree that prebuilt coils are not designed to be used on mechanicals.
They are mass produced and of questionable quality.
Some come DOA.
It will only take one shorted prebuilt
Coil to make people See the light.

Yeah you got sold a series bmf. Be careful with those too. I bought one and my friend bought one. They both started auto firing and then the mosfet fried. Luckily the shop I go to is good and they took it back and that several other people had the same issue, no matter if it was series or parallel. And I don't mean it happened to several other people and they heard about it on the internet, I mean there was quite a number of us that bought from the same shop and we all had issues with bmf. I honestly would just return it. And get about anything else

I would recommend that you stop using the Triforce tank on that box. The box you posted a picture of looks to be wired in series. With freshly charged batteries, it it supplying somewhere around 8 volts to your tank. Since the resistance of the coil in your tank is .5, that means it is supplying roughly 130 watts to your tank. The coil in that tank is not rated to handle anything over 80 watts.

It's sad that a shop would sell an unregulated box without explaining how ohm's law works, and the limitations of the box.

Now that you have been made aware of the situation....Congratulations! You have an unregulated serial box coupled with an RTA with big airflow that can handle almost anything you can throw at it (provided you pick up the Triforce upgrade kit and start building you own coils). For a newb vaper, you have the initial makings of a very nice setup .
