I am hoping for some recommendations for a decent Ohm meter/reader.

I was going to buy the Coil Master 521 tab as the firing option looks handy but I have read some comments here that say it is junk???

I have up until now been using the built in reader on my provari devices but want to test for builds I will be using on a different mod (Dicodes No. 6 box mod)

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

The Coilmaster isn't "junk" but after buying one myself, I'd save my money and buy the Geekvape 521 tab.
The battery testing is an ok feature, but the leads for measuring resistance of wire weren't worth throwing in the box! The 510 ohm reader works great and the burn in ability is great.
BUT, the Geekvape does both of those things, is a bit smaller and doesn't slide all over the table.
Just my .02.

High quality and accuracy, but a little extra $$ - USA Ohm Meters...

THanks Train2, I was looking at them but unfortunately they don't ship outside of the States. I am in Australia :-(

I have the "Pilot" (clone of the 521 I believe).

No problems with it at all, absolutely no regrets with getting it, blue light for testing, red for fire, the wire testing claw things cables are REALLY handy to test how much wire you need even before you cut the length you need.

Just one secondary flaw, the mod tester add-on part, my mod got stuck, and I had to bust it apart to get it off my mod and had to re-solder the internal cable and put it back together. When I'll use again, I'll be sure to be extremely gentle with it so not to over-tighten it again.(though I didn't think I had when this happen). But this is something that I'm going to use very rarely anyways.

I wouldn't hesitate getting another one should this one break, well worth it.

Might even get a spare as in case... I use it every time I rebuild/build my coils sice I got mine. Probably done about 20-30 coils with it now.

I just received an email back from USA Ohm meters and they do actually do international shipping

So to hell with the expense I have ordered the single 18650 fire meter :)

Possibly overkill, but knowing it is out there would make me probably buy anyway even if I went for the CM or GV versions which do look very positive after the responses above :thumb:

The Geek Vape 521 Tab is cheaper than the others, but I would not buy one. I used mine a couple times and noticed the 510 pin was not making contact. There was no "springiness." I managed to work the pin back up, but it would not stay up. I thought maybe it was just stuck for some reason, so I took the back off and pushed the pin back up from the backside. Still no go.

I decided to just suck it up and replace the 510 myself. I pushed the pin all the way through and I don't see a "spring" anywhere. (I would appreciate anyone telling me where the spring is supposed to be) So I emailed Geek Vape. I asked where the spring was supposed to be. Instead of answering my question, they just told me that I should not have done that. I replied and told them I just wanted an answer to a simple question, if there was supposed to be a spring there, since I do not see one! blah blah blah and thanks for nothing. Their reply "Dear Debi, You are very welcome we love to help our loyal customers. We do not make that product anymore but you are more than welcome to buy the 521 tab mini when it comes out! We appreciate the feedback, have a great day! Thank you for choosing GeekVape" Yeah, I am not going to deal with companies that are clueless. o_O

I would spend the extra money to buy one of better quality and from someone who will actually answer questions that you may have.

My coilmaster 521 definitely has a spring with about 2mm play..

I have both the Coilmaster 521 Tab and the USAohmmeter Fire Meter. I had bought the Firemeter, and shortly afterward, I received the Coilmaster as a gift from a friend. So, I have both.
The Fire Meter is more solid. The case is 3D printed, while the Tab is molded ABS. The 510 connector in the Fire Meter is a bit better quality; I think it's either a Varitube or a Fatdaddy connector. Not sure which. The Fire Meter has a mosfet switch. I don't know if the Tab does or not; I've never taken it apart. Accuracy wise, I've tried them both with some of my builds, and they both read the same, within a hundredth or two. But, the Fire Meter is about twice the price of the Tab.

I am hoping for some recommendations for a decent Ohm meter/reader.

I have the coilmaster. Works great and seems precise.

Coil Master 521 Tab SALE $24.95

For $24.95 here, the Coil Master 521 tab seemed to be the deal for me. I also purchased the V3 Coil Jig there for $9.95. With everything I'm purchasing in preparation for The Deeming, the price for USAohmmeter is well beyond what I want to spend at this time for an ohm meter.

I had been meaning to buy this one for a while but I guess I just kept putting it on the back burner until the 510 on my ohm meter fell out. Ordered this one yesterday. Just got the shipping email.
