....It was a lot easier than I thought it would be; I'm vaping just over 1 month but initially cut down my 20 a day habit to around 4-5 a day, did this for roughly 4 weeks and was beginning to think I would never cut them out completely.

I ran out of Golden Virginia rollies on Sunday last with no intention of giving them up but was lazy and didnt want to go to the store. I just thought why not just leave the analogs till tomorrow and then buy them...It wasnt half as bad with just ecig as I imagined, so just didnt bother buying tobacco Monday when at a store or Tuesday and here we are, I dont feel much of a craving for an analog at the moment so all is good.

It's only been a few days but this is a huge step for me; the last time I was off analogs for more than a day was 14 years ago when I gave them up for about 3 weeks. I have been smoking 15-20 a day for the past 17 years.

Currently vaping JC's 24mg Tennessee Cured mixed with Smokesters 24mg Cigar in a 510 screwdriver, quite the hit!

Best of luck to everyone and happy vaping, also like to thank the forum in general as its been a fantastic resource for getting started with vaping.

Cheers guys, I initially thought it was going to be difficult breaking those 4-5 a day, especially the morning and after meals analogue, but it was pretty much hassle free with the 510. When I tried this before with gum or patches, I really thought I was going to have to murder a few dozen people if I didn't get hold of an analogue by the end of the day :D.

Its early days yet and would never tempt faith but hopefully I can continue like this. Just have to say that ecigs are so much better than other ways of getting off the old cancer sticks!

Happy vaping!

Well done! I too was surprised as to the lack of craving agter e-cigs. Although it wasn't completely gone after the first few days.

Keep us posted!!

Will do, I have no doubt I'm going to have a few testing moments along the way, that's inevitable, I'm just more than happy that I more or less stopped accidentally so far.

If on Sunday I had anything else to pick up from the store or whatever then I would've no doubt just bought another pack as I had been doing over the past month and continued as I was but it kind of accidentally happened that I didn't need to leave the house for anything other than cigs! So it was worth a try!

It's only been a few days...

Well done!

Day 3 and 4 were the really tough ones for me. I would be sitting at my desk at work gnawing on one of my fingernails before I worked out that
a) yuk! 8-o and
b) I wanted an analog.

Keep your juice close by your side and stick with it. It does get easier to manage the cravings without losing fingernails, chewing on carkeys or disfiguring pen lids.

:) Cheers! Glad to hear you are doing well, I'm off the bad ones just over a week now and tbh it was nowhere near as harrowing as I thought, I've had a few cravings alright but the 24mg eliquid is the sweet point for me atm....

You're right about keeping everything close by tho, I've got 2 screwdrivers, 2, 510 mega batts and 2 510 normal batts fully loaded all the time....Its great to just cycle through them one by one with a different flavour in each.

My past procedure with analogues for quite a long time was to get up in the morning and have a cig with a coffee before even eating breakfast....it almost felt like a necessary procedure. In the first few days of giving up I was doing that with vaping as well, but the past 2 days I've found less 'need' to do it. I've skipped the coffee/vape first thing and had my breakfast then do the coffee and vaping....feels much more relaxing and less 'frantic' or something.

Anyway best of luck to everyone!

I can't wait for my first ecig, ordered from china a week ago so... Not sure why I did so, now I'm impatiently waiting. A lot of life changes right now and I want to include quitting analogues into the batch.

Congratulations to you and wish me luck!

Best of luck deadguy, I'm sure you'll find vaping a great experience, just dont put yourself under too much pressure, and let the 'switch' to vaping happen in its own time. Once you find the sweet spot (i.e. right flavour juice etc) its all free-wheeling from there! Best of luck!
