I've been at this a year now and have had to continue buying my ADVs from Mountain Vapor because they do my favorite nut flavors so well. Oddly, I've tried a few 555s from different vendors and don't like them. I guess I'm picky about my nuts? Most of them taste like peanut but some like hazel nut which I'm not a big fan of in high doses. Am I just a nut connissuer of sorts? A discription of "nutty" doesn't cover it for me I'm finding. Pecan, almond, walnut, hazel nut and peanut are different tastes and where one goes well with one tobacco, for instance, it doesn't with another so I think I need them all but can't find them. Hangsen, for instance, on their site makes walnut and almond but I don't find them carried by USA vendors. Obviously Mountain Vapor is getting them somewhere because they use different nut flavors in Pecan Roll. Bacconut, USA Rich and Maple Nut and I suspect USA Mix. Does anyone know where to find these different nut flavors other than Wizard as all their flavorings taste like soap to me? Also, just exactly what nut does acetyl pyrazine taste like? Thanks.

Edit: Never mind on the AP. I've since found out it tastes like popcorn or corn chips... not nuts at all though I've seen it recommended for nutty flavor... wouldn't like that at all.

I love nuts to eat or vape. I've had multiple 555s and some don't taste like they have nuts in them at all but no two tasted alike and they were awful. One I could taste peanut in but it just didn't go with tobacco to me I guess. I am currently vaping walnut, pecan and almond flavored tobaccos and they're wonderful... just wish I could make some myself.

I can understand your fustration, I have a few nut flavors myself that just don't work when added to tobacco. The best I've found is hangsen for a true nut taste. Other then adding a little AP to a mix I've all but given up on creating nut flavored tobacco from scratch and just depend on what's already available.

AP in the bottle and at too high a percentage in your mix does smell like corn chips. At 1% though it does impart a nutty taste though hard to describe. I love it in my RY4 Double mix. Wizard Labs has it. Definitely worth a try if you like nutty flavors.

That is exactly what I find with AP

1 - 2% a nice nutty taste

3-4 % somewhat nutty, bready and more like corn chip

4 - 5% more like popcorn and tends to lean towards the burnt corn chip taste.

6% totally burnt taste.

AP is a staple in my mixing kit for enhancing nuttyness. But in enhancing nuttyness you need to concider how much AP is already in the flavoring. For example

straight tobacco with no nuttyness 2% works well

Hangsen highway has quite a bit of AP in it already so 1% or less

T5 is nutty but not as nutty as highway so 1% to 1.5% will work.

Vaping Zone has nice Almond and Hazelnut

ECX has a nice Walnut in their Fruit Express line. Don't get the Black Walnut. Trust me.

I mix those 3, about 2ml almond, 1ml each of hazelnut and walnut and add a touch of that to some tobaccos. It's nice.

I got a pistachio flavoring from someplace that was bad, just bad. It made the mix all cloudy so it may have been an oil. Tasted awful anyway.

Hangsen has a Nut flavoring but I don't think you can get it in the US right now. It's just ok anyway. If you want to try a bit patkin, PM me.

Inawera has a walnut and a peanut. I don't have them so I can't say. Was thinking about putting them in my next order.

AP, to me, is intolerable unless it's greatly diluted. I have the 10% one and put 2 drops in 5ml of PG and add one drop to a mix very occasionally. Some people love it, some people don't.

I guess I'm lucky because I like all of the nut flavors I've tried so far. The list is TFA black walnut, pecan, toasted almond, and peanut butter, and VZ almond (alcohol based). The VZ almond is great and it and all the TFA flavors go great with tobaccos except for the black walnut. It's the only one that doesn't mix all that great with tobacco's but it's a great walnut flavor.

Jim's Creamy Walnut:

TFA black walnut 5%
Wizard Labs sweet cream 2%
TFA maple syrup 1%

This is the best peanut butter recipe I've tried. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/blogs/donnah/4750-some-recipes.html

I hope this thread isn't dying. I'm looking for a good almond that is free of diacetyl, acetyl propionyl and acetoin. I just recently found out that VZ almond contains diacetyl so that is now out of my cupboard. Their caramel and raspberry also have diacetyl. Bummer. I wish I didn't like to err on the side of caution so much.

Anyone know of a non toasted almond that is free of diacetyl, acetyl propionyl and acetoin?

I like the TFA almond but I don't know what's in it. I think TFA has been pretty good on not using diacetyl though.

I had no idea and would have never thought VZSC almond had that. :( Thanks for posting that info.
I emailed Inawera Shop tonight, (I have since my last post in this thread purchased the almond) to ask if any of their flavors contained diacetyl. I got an answer back and they said no. None of them do or they would be on the certificates. I have tried it as well and it's a very good almond.
