Spaceballsrules (and I agree....) For a typical cartomizer I run about 70/30 pg/vg. I like a full feeling cloud. Anything higher in vg will clog a cart but quick! Pg is for feeling like you inhaled something, vg gives a fuller hit and more vapor but it's thick stuff. If you want to know how thick, go to your drug store, and somewhere around the witchhazel section, you will find a bottle of pure VG. It's usually made by Humco. Anything 80 or above in pg hurts my throat. Alot of people buy the pg and play with the ratio.
PG gives better flavor and more TH, but doesnt make much vapor.
VG makes a lot of vapor, but dulls flavor and TH some, plus its very thick.

Thats why people like a combination of the 2. I like 80/20 alot bc it gives good flavor and TH but also makes pretty nice vapor too
OK thanks to both of you. I guess I will start with e-juices that are around those ratios and go from there.
Im only saying it bc I feel like your going to end up going to an eGo or something similar anyway, so why not do it now and save that money?

You really will enjoy the vape alot more with a bigger battery PV. My first kit was an overpriced slim ecig kit. It did work okay for a slim ecig, but ended up buying a bigger battery PV like a week later.

Personally I like the 3.7V PVs more than the eGo,since the eGo is only 3.3-3.4V, but the eGo is a good PV.

Getting a bigger battery PV will open up all kinds of options that you could never experience on a slim ecig. LRs, actual good cartos, carto tanks, etc. Plus going to a device with 510 threading will give you a LOT of options as well.

If you really dont care what it looks like and just want a good vape, the I promise you that you will not regret the decision to go to a bigger battery PV. And if you really want to use KR808 cartos for some reason, you can buy an adapter so you could use them for a buck or two.

Goodluck!

I can understand that you are hesitant about the whole "Dude, you're getting an eGo" recommendation, as that is what all experienced users seem to suggest to all noobs, and that sometimes it may not be what that individual is looking for at the time. For me personally, it just seems logical to go in that direction, and to do it sooner rather than later.
I will start checking out some of the 3.7V models. Do you have any suggestions on that?

That's the other thing to consider if you do want to stay with the 808. My echo is 4.2 volts. If you do switch to a 510 listen to Rob and don't go for the standard ego. That's probably a big reason I went back to the 808. 3.4 volts leaves a lot lacking. And 808's now finally have just about everything 510 offers except tanks. There is also the echo-e which is 4.2, manual 510 threaded.

rob has something. We helped you over in the thread where you were talking about upgrading. We are here now with helping you get some better carts in the meantime.....but if you order your carts tonight, you'll get them shipped on monday (maybe) and at best have a good cart by the weekend. Or.........a better pv!

Agreed! Since I already have an 808, I can always mess with that. I think I have a good idea of what to look for in a carto and where to find them. I just received an e-mail stating that Vermillion has already sent out my ejuice, so that should be here early next week, and I have plenty of empty cartos that I have been saving from my V2.

You guys will probably also be helping me when I post my thread entitled "Newb needs advice on which 510 to get." LOL/srs

In case you haven't figured it out, I went the 510 way and am back to 808 so I'm out. But be careful with that question. Lot's more people with lot's more opinions about the 510 and perfectly willing to write you a book :p

But when you post Newb just got fresh juice and needs help filling carts.....I'm ALLL OVER THAT ONE!!!!!! Merry Christmas......

Out of curiosity, why did you go back to 808 instead of getting a better 510 battery?

Dang! It is Christmas now! I guess the holidays will give me plenty of time to read everything people will write in that thread.

Merry Christmas to you as well. :D

Well since you mention PBusardo, Here's his review on the ecig I bought to upgrade from a kr808. I am very happy with it. Trust me I watched and read tons of reviews before I pulled the trigger. It was between this and the Epower. Glad I stayed away from the Epower as they seem to be having issues with the new models.

I've always liked the way the 808 stuff performed. For some reason it all seemed better built, better flavor, vapor etc. Anything I've tried in 510 that had an 808 version, the 808 version always won. I did get an ego and wasn't happy and while I was looking around, I saw the echo. Big batt 808, no button pushing, the cartomizers were being raved about and it was simple. Carts hold enough to last all day and can be cleaned and reused for months. Sold.

The 510's biggest argument was it had more options. It's true. It's like a mac vs a pc. One is better out of the box, one is better if you want to play around a little and upgrade. But the mac has become more user friendly and now the 808 is too!

You've gotten some good tips from the veterans already. Isn't this a great forum?! :)

I'm going to jump in here only because I'm a "noob" too and started with a mall model a year ago which gathered dust until I found ECF and started getting informed. After reading for days, I decided to get an Echo (650mah & 1300mah batteries) which is an 808 AND the Elite 808. I just didn't know if I wanted an auto or manual, so I got both.

Well, they must be good because they got me off of the stinkies within a few days of using them. 40 year smoker here. Yippeee! :)

Here are my experiences with them. Keep in mind that I've been using both of them during the day, so that will most likely lengthen battery life for me. Also, please keep in mind that I'm very green at this & don't have a clue, so it's all just my subjective opinion.

Echo 650mah auto:
battery lasts all day
very mellow throat hit, decent vapor, somewhat muted flavor - a very enjoyable vape that I find very relaxing
like the feel in my hand, well balanced (I'm even able to hold this one while driving a stick shift sports car)

Elite 808 manual:
battery lasts all day
stronger throat hit than the Echo, sometimes almost harsh, flavors often taste burnt to me, decent vapor (have to top it off more often since the carto doesn't hold as much juice as the Echo...I probably don't give it enough juice often enough, hence the burnt taste)
very nice looking ecig, but not as comfortable in my hand as the Echo - it almost seems too skinny and slippery and I actually prefer the fatter cigar size Echo, which surprised me

On Monday I received a KGO, so now I'm rotating all three of them. The flavor in the KGO is a big improvement over the Echo and Elite. I'm really enjoying the KGO. Now I wish that I had started with a 510 and I could have put the money I spent on the 808s towards a Darwin. :)

This is a much watch. I laughed til I cried.

That KGO looks fantastic! Thanks. Apart from Hoosier, who else sells these?

I actually build my own PCs, and went through similar growing pains with that. At first, I just wanted something that worked. Then I wanted more power, then I wanted better graphics, then I wanted a bigger case, then I wanted cool'n'quiet.....the point being that I spent $$thousands before figuring out what system and setup was ideal for me personally.

The one thing I know I want now is a manual battery. I am a control freak. :p

Thanks for sharing your journey. That helps a ton!
The video doesn't have enough head smacking, but other than that, very funny, and I am sure, very true as well. :p
Where did you end up getting your Echo and KGO?
I'm backing the V4L vote, they're pretty straight forward and have a wicked wide selection. Plus, unlike other newb friendly grab-n-go manufacturers "coughgreensmokecough" V4L's carts are easily refillable and when the time comes are perfect for beginner modding.
Everyone seems to come back to V4L when it comes to 808's. Thanks for the advice. :)

To Everyone: Where do I get a manual Echo or KGO?

To answer a couple questions-

Who sells the KGO-
BreezEsmokes
Hoosier
A supplier in the Suppliers section- the name escapes me at the moment.

Echo-
Cropduster
Bill in the Suppliers section-

**Just want to say something about recommended suppliers- All the suppliers are resellers and pretty much sell the same devices. People recommend where they got theirs- only natural but a bit unfair to the other suppliers who offer pretty much the same pv at sometimes just as reasonable a price.

These are the people that you see closing up, because they rarely get a play. But it is important to check comments, check feedback and even more important to me, check warranty information. Do they stand behind what they sell?

Not to badmouth what might be a good pv, but why I'd never buy from Cigeasy with their one week warranty.

To answer your other question- I got my echo-e from Bill.

Cropduster also carries the KR808 manual echo.

Don't know if I agree with you about recommending suppliers being unfair. I would say most suppliers on here are mom and pop type businesses. Not sure of how many Vendors are Wal marting other vendors out of business at this point. I haven't bought as much as drip tip without making sure a few people from here have had good dealings with the Vendor. In all honesty, when I suggest the Kgo to someone I rarely say what Vendor I got it from unless asked. The main reason I went with hoosier is that his chrome Kgo was all chrome. Don't like Gold on my ecigs.

You are right though that many vendors offer the same kits. One thing I always look for is how close the Vendor is to me. When I order something, I want it yesterday.

That's why I like YouTube reviews. Many of the reviewers had tried many different models of PV's. Most on here recommend the model they are happy with. I love the Kgo but, In all honesty I can't say for sure if it's better than any of the other ego style because I haven't tried them.

Here's where I got mine....very happy with the service from both vendors.

Echo: Mountain Vapor - High quality e-cigarettes, liquids and accessories. (looks like he only sells the auto, but that's what I wanted and was able to get a battery in each size)

KGO: KGO 1100 mAh 2 battery kit

I agree the video could have used more head smacking. :)

Your PC building adventure is a foretaste of what to expect with your vaping. I can see you stepping up to a mod quickly.

Have fun!

Yeah, I am still trying to figure out what the original models are that have not been rebranded or customized specifically for a supplier.
I try to be a careful shopper, but sometimes you have to take chances.

I just looked up all the vendors around me (Raleigh, NC) and found a few. I typically stay ahead when it comes to being stocked on something I use on a daily basis. I think I have ~50 rolls of toilet paper around the house.

I really hope I don't end up spending way too much on this stuff, but i can see how easy it would be to just go nuts with it. EEK!

Like you Charlz, I've gone the 510 way and am at the moment looking for a good 808. I, as a newbie started with an Ego. Great ecig but a pain in the .... to fill the small carts, no matter how you mod them. Long lasting battery, though. I have bought tanks, Ce2 and other things for my Ego, still didn't satify me enought o stay away from the ciggies. Than I went with the Echo E when it first appeared. Again great batt life, easy to fill cartos that hold a large amount but a tasteless thing, no flavor with any kind of juice. Than I got the double coil cartos and am having trouble with them burning my throat and not wicking. I have a disposable rechargeable 808 with prefilled cartos that I got when I ordered the double coils, looks like a ciggie and for the first time I really enjoyed smoking an ecig. So I think to try to stay off the cancer sticks I need to find something like that but it not being a disposable. Than maybe I can figure out why I am having so much trouble with the Echo E.

I have just skimmed through your post but in the begining you were thinking of getting the Elite 808 from cigeasy. I have had 510 regular batteries and ego batteries. I have also had regular size 808 batteries. I purchased the Elite and I love this thing, it is awsome. It is in between regular size and ego size and one battery last me all day and night. I am using Boge 2.0 cartomizers with it and out of all the cartomizers and batteries I've tried this is the very best set up I have found. I had a hard time finding the Boge 2.0 with an 808 connection but did find them at Kalamazoo vapors. (I think thats the name) Anyhow hope this helps.

I agree with what swedishfish says about the companies, V4L, greensmoke, v2, always get mentioned and get more and more customers. I will however recommend some people that HE/SHE recommended me in my welcome thread and that is Liberty-Flights.

Liberty-Flights has some of the fastest shipping and stand behind their products, Had a bad battery and they sent me the replacement right away and a return shipping envelope!!! How many companies do that ? Help you first and then ask what happened? you can tell they have a different mentality maybe the UK factor ? don't know ....

Their Products have been outstanding on my book !!!

Also I think my whole vaping experience has changed since I started using Fluxomizers or CE2 v5 ot v6? Vision extremes all from Gotvapes , I personally love knowing how much Juice I have left and following everybody's videos on Youtube on how to mod them , I can say it is the closest thing to Dripping when it comes to flavor and Vapor production.

Now i'm on a MAP tank, which is basically a CE2 on steroids , I'm IN LOVE !!!

It sounds like you want a Volt or Bloog with their regular cartomizers. You could stick a Boge 2.0 ohm carto on it for an even bigger kick.
This is advice coming from someone with nothing but questions of his own and only a third of your post count, so.....:2c:

One concern I do have about the Elite 808 is the voltage regulation. Everything I have read or watched shows that the Elite starts at 4.2V, but drops down to ~3.2V as it nears the end of the charge.
BTW I have seen the Boge 2.0 cartos at Liberty Flights.

Yup, Liberty Flights. I am already on that one. ;)

Are those tanks 808 or 510?
