I think this answer is mostly correct but I will add my two cents. For the record this is not a pro-smoking rant on an e-cig site. I am not encouraging tobacco consumption. I am offering a different strategy for those who are still consuming tobacco and can't make the complete switch to e-smoking.I believe Dusty's on target (and certainly not full of it
However, we also know that yes, tobacco companies have indeed manipulated the manner in which their cigarettes deliver the nicotine into the system - forcing them to relay nicotine in artificially faster, higher and efficient ways. This is really the reason they're getting into trouble. Well, this and...um, they kill people.
For those still fighting cigarette addiction you might want to consider smoking additive free tobacco. Either make your own or try one of the additive free brands available in pre-mades,. As MacFan stated many name brand manufactured cigarettes seem to deliver the nicotine more efficiently because of certain additives. Not only will making your own save you a lot of money it takes some time and attention which also fosters an attitude of respect and an awareness of how much one is consuming.
As far as health concerns: If you're still smoking cigarettes at all woudn't you rather smoke pure tobacco unadulterated by 500 or so additional additives? The whole propaganda machine of smoking seems to push overconsumption and mindless smoking to get an artificial nicotine buzz. I have not found it as difficult to quit for weeks (and sometimes years) smoking additive free tobacco. Of course I only made a few cigarettes at a time and smoked 3-4 a day on the average. I found premium quality additive free tobacco to be much more satisfying than name brand pre-mades and consequently smoked less, not more. Try switching over and then methodically lowering your consumption. I had no problem switching from additive free tobacco to e-smoking exclusively. In fact I have the opposite complaint. I had to lower the nicotine levels of my e-cig cartridges because I was overdosing.
Oooh yea!! It was suposed to be completely covered by a vapour cloud but my damn camera kept missing it!
i find the e-icg does cut it providing u have good one.. a wimp dosnt cut it just like a weak real cig dosnt cut it for me..
i feel that e smoking a good as new 901 type device cuts it very well for me.. i smoke the odd real cig but not to top up my e smoking.. i get ample nicotine from that.. i just do it out of habit..
my major problem.. keeping the bloody things workings at peak efficiency.. having to buy a constant supply of new atomizers and batteries as the old ones wear out.. if i dont do this e smoking dosnt cut for me.. if i do it does..
all it needs is a good device that works.. so far achieving this is bloody hard work and costly..
i dont run for a real cig.. i run for a new atomizer and battery.. i am now an e cig junkie.. he he

i have joined the boring old 901 club.. its as good as any out there.. cheaper than most.. its hard for me not to..
the odd thing is its the one we started with.. our search for something better has simply not come up with any results..
a couple off batteries every two or three weeks.. a new atomizer every two weeks at best.. top up the carts and there is no better or more cost effective way of e smoking.. its been a hard road finding this out but its where i am now.. stocking up with new 901 parts.. he he he
