the 30 gauge coil would be HUGE just to get a workable resistance. so it's 5 usable 10 ft rolls better off getting it on ebay

What gauge is it that is usually use 36 isn't it . Nichrome 60 (Chromel C) 27.0 ohms/ft

I use 32 gauge for lr coils. I believe it is 36 gauge that is used in 510 atty's, but I am not 100% certain.

Just a heads up on this company...their wire comes on a card...not a spool....I emailed them and ask. 15ft of wire on a card is no problem if you dont mind the bends....but 100ft on a card could get ugly fast.

Either one works fine for our purposes. Kanthal is more durable and there are some differences in resistance at a given wire gauge. You'll find people that prefer either one over the other, but both will do what we need them to do ;-)

As for where to find it, ebay is a good source. Search for "resistance heating wire" and/or "kanthal". One seller who frequently sells it is pmtoolco
