Hi

I just started vaping today

I'm testing out different juices and strengths

I have mostly 70/30 PG/VG juices in 12,18 and 24mg strengths

So far I have tried the 24mg and 18mg juice and I'm getting a dry/ticklish sensation in the back of my throat when I inhale
ie I suppose that would be too much throat hit?

Would this generally be related to the amount of PG , nic strength or a combination of both?

Would it be a question of trying perhaps 50/50 blends or perhaps 100% VG

Looking for other peoples experiences with this

I'm using a manger MT3 which apparently is 2.5ohm , would it be better to use a higher distance to reduce throat hit

Also, I'm looking for recommendations on juice flavours from Canvapes , so far I've tried 2, muskoka menthol which was awful and RY4 which is a lot better.

I have Du Maurier which I haven't tried yet

I came across a couple of mentions of Wild Berry and Kool Menthol , any feedback on these or other recommendations?

Cheers

The way vapor hits your throat and lungs, is much different then cigarettes, just like when you learned to smoke you have to learn to vape now. Once you get it and your body gets used to it you will be exhaling dragon vapes in no time if you choose, but there is a learning curve.

The next step is to find a juice you really like, when we smoked we all had 1 flavor, now there is a world of flavors, so get out there and buy some you think you might like, and some you aren't so sure of. 1 of them will click for you, it is the most expensive part of the voyage but very rewarding when you do find it.

Well the nic level could be too high for you. Do you feel anything else when you use the 24mg and 18mg? dizzy? upset stomach? Are you keeping yourself hydrated? When you use the 12mg do you feel like your nic cravings are being satisfied? Best thing to do is experiment. Cheapest way to do it is go to Canada E juice . for $4 you can buy 6mg bottles which are perfect for experimenting and you get 70/30 PG/VG, 50/50 PG/VG, 30/70 PG/VG and 100% VG in the 12,18 and 24mg strengths and see if things change, paying attention to what your body is telling you by the way you feel when you use it.

There is not enough information to say you have a allergy to 70/30 PG/VG's or 24mg/18mg juices. Might be a mild irritation though. I know this is not much help to you right now, but it is the best advice i can offer up

Thanks ,I appreciate the feedback.

The issue seems to have improved now, I think it was related to my technique.

It's early days so I don't have a good feel yet for the strength I need exactly but so far I'm getting the impression that I need 18-24mg
as I'm replacing analogues.

I have ordered a few other juices from Canvape in my quest for my ideal flavour but thanks for the recommendation of Canada E Juice
depending on how things go this could also be a good option.

All good advice. It's not an easy voyage by any means, but it is worthwhile. Every day off the stinkies, is another day towards better health and all that goes with it :)

The longer I have vaped, the better it has become...more fun, more interesting. As with any change, there are bad days and good days. Your forum buddies are here to help and encourage you in this trip, so keep the faith and vape on :)

I started off at 24mg the first month. It got me off the stinkies! I then dropped to 20mg. Two weeks after that I dropped to 16mg. My nice level at 16 felt bit light. So I gotta couple of flavours in 18mg strength. I still haven't had a smoke since Jan 31, 2013. I am obsessed with vaping! Always seeking bigger badder better! Just tried out the aga t2 today....think I am getting ready to start some ss rbas!!

Congrats on being off the analogues for over 2 months

I'm on day 4 right now, using 24mg at the moment , I plan on revisiting the nic strength on a monthly basis

I'm a few weeks into this right now and I'll give you my take (not as advanced as others but none the less..).

I'm 29 year old male and have been smoking a pack a day for the past 8 years, with maybe just over half a pack since I was in my teens. Since switching to e-cigs, I started off with 24mg for a week and found it to be a little to much (I wanted to vape more), so I switched to 18mg for the next week. I figured all was going well and the last week and half I've been at 12mg. I tend to vape a lot as I drive a bunch for work (HVAC Tech). I find that's the sweet spot for me. The next order i'll make will be for 6mg to gear up for the summer :p.

I know it varies between people, but i've tried to quit smoking sooo many times it's not funny. After the first week vaping (off the stinkies), I have no desire to go back to them. I've had a few beers on the weekends with no desire to bum a smoke from a buddy. It really worked well for me.

Canadaejuice has great flavors. If you like Mountain Dew I highly recommend it to you. Irish Cream and RY4 Double are great also. Just keep going and you'll find yourself at ease the more you progress. it's a fun and rewarding road ahead. And the money you save, along with keeping your health in check is well worth the ride!

Keep it up man ;)

At least the clothes smell good. How are things ktel?

Pretty good thanks

A lot of this is mind over matter in regards to the cigarettes, it's not easy but a question of weighing up the pros and cons whenever I have the urge to smoke.

It's good to get rid of the smell of smoke and I no longer have the nasal congestion I had before

I have some more juice flavours arriving today to test out
