New to vaping, what's a good starter kit?

So today I bought a Vuse Solo from a 7-Eleven because I've been trying somewhat successfully to quit smoking and I admittedly enjoyed it. I was a bit annoyed at the Vuse not lasting very long (I used up the cartridge already) but I enjoyed getting my nicotine fix without tobacco (cigarette or dip otherwise). I've tried vaping at a local shop before and at the time the cost was a bit too much seeing their products costs about as much a textbook even with their student discounts. Right now, I done to maybe a cigarette every week or so and I was never to heavy a smoker (though dipping tobacco is sometimes a go-to for that craving, but cigarettes are definitely my preference), so would anyone be able to suggest a cheap starter kit I could get.

You could try an eVOD kit, comes with two tanks and two ego batteries. Not sure where you can find the cheapest, but they're cheap enough that just about everybody, even B&Ms carry them.

Innokin also makes pretty great products for cheap. I like the MVP 2.0 and the looks of the Cool Fire 2, though I don't own a Cool Fire. Just about any B&M you walk into will have Innokin products.

Good luck breaking the habit, happy vaping!

You're quite welcome!

Kanger makes the eVOD, if you were wanting to ask the B&Ms about more of those products.

I'd recommend doing a little scouting for prices online as well. You can usually find cheaper deals, but run the risk of scam sites. If you're dead set on a B&M, which usually has to sell for a little higher price, you can see how much or if you'll be overpaying by going online first.

Thanks! There's a few shops nearby so I'm probably going to go ask around, see who has the best deal and I'll be sure to ask about those ones.

Just so you know when visiting a bricks and mortar you're going to pay 1.5-2.5x the price you would online. I bought my MVP 2.0 on eBay for $38.85 free shipping, my buddy bought the same exact one, no difference for $82.49 at a bricks and mortar. Same exact thing.

The cheapest mechanical mod they had at the shop was $80ish as well, and that was just the mod, no batteries, no charger, no tank/rda/rba, coil, kanthal, or anything, literally just the mod. I want to say it was a Hades Clone (Not sure, I just know it was big and short, so probably a 26650 mod) which are going for $25-35 on eBay (Just ordered a Tobecco one on eBay for $28 free shipping).

A lot of people are saying that these are pretty good. They're also 1600mah which isn't bad.

Although if I were you I wouldn't honestly lean as far away from ego styles as much as possible.

I can recommend and vouch the MVP 2.0.

Check 101 Vapes for good prices. Though, also, I buy from MyVaporStore.com a lot. Solid vendor, gets orders out the door fast.

An Innokin VV V3 is a good starter. Also the MVP (which has a great battery life). I'm also fond of EVODs though I've gone Innokin all the way these days. I was using EVODs before moving up to my VTR.

True enough. But when you're new, sometimes it's good to have a B&M to drop by if you run into a snag. The vape world can be confusing at first. So paying a bit for the service can be worth it while you're learning the "lay of the land".

I just got the Mig Cig. I really wanted something that had a cigarette like feel so that is why I went with it. The starter kits range from $30-$70. They have really good reviews and I love mine so far. I got the Mig 21 starter kit for $70.

But if you really don't care about the cigarette like feel, I would have probably gone with the iTaste vv 3.0. Has a little more versatility and features. You wouldn't go wrong with either.

Welcome bonaulo :)

Popular topic this evening :) I'd lean toward the iTaste (iTazte) VV3 or MVP2. America's best vaping and ecig deals and steals - 101 Vape or E-Cig Distribution Wholesalers E cig | strictlyecig.com has the MVPs for about $40 for a kit (which includes a tank). 101vape has an "express" VV3 kit (only the battery and a charging cable) but only costs about $27 plus shipping.

The VV3 is a stick-like battery, and the MVP is a box-style (with about 3 times the battery life of the VV3.)

These are variable voltage/variable wattage devices, and also are passthroughs, which means you can vape while you're charging it (handy if you don't have a backup - hint, hint ;) ) Both also are 510/eGo threaded, which means they're compatible with a number of different toppers.

I have two of each (plus a couple of spinners and eGo-style fixed voltage devices that I got early in my vaping journey.) I'm seriously debating getting a third MVP, I like them so much :D

Do some homework - you'll likely get all kinds of recommendations.

Keep asking questions - many out here happy to help.

Depending on what "cheap" means for you, a couple to consider would be (in my opinion):

Innokin iTaste VV V3.0 Starter Kit

Innokin iTaste MVP V2.0

Kanger Evod Starter Kit - Mt Baker Vapor - Electronic Cigarettes

Those are vendors I deal with all the time myself and products I actually think are good (I'm an Innokin fan these days but used EVODs before and like them).

Mount Baker, by the way, also has some good e-liquids. Quite a variety: USA Made Nicotine Juice, E Juice, E Liquid, Electronic Cigarette Juice and really good customer service. MVS too. Both get your order out the door fast. I mean really fast. I've ordered late on a Friday and got my package on Monday. I like fast service but, geez, do they take any days off or sleep? :)

As others have said, I'd get the Innokin Itaste VV or MVP and an Aspire Nautilus Mini tank to put on it. Either of those batteries with that tank will be a wonderful combination which you won't need to upgrade or replace for quite some time. Only thing you need besides those things is some juice you enjoy. Try litecigusa.net they sell all 3 of the items I mentioned at good prices

Welcome to an awesome forum! Search around here, visit local B&M and find something you like. It's usually what works best. On line prices can be quite a bit cheaper though. I started with a gas station purchased e-cig which got me to cut down quite a bit and got me researching better, easier to use stuff and this is what I ended up with V2Pro Homepage
Been working really well for me. Super easy to use, little maintenance, no tinkering, just fill and enjoy.
Good luck. Happy vaping!

I started off with the eGo-VV V3 and a Kanger3 tank that I got from Sweet-Vapes. The eGo-VV works great for me. It's a VV/VW bat with pass through which is really nice so I can Vape even while it is charging. The new eGo-VV V4 is out and is a 1300 mah battery and a better design fire switch. A little less power then the Innokin which I think is 1600 mah. I have done a lot of business with Sweet-Vapes and have never had issues.
