Hi Everyone,

Thanks to this great forum, I have been analog free for 10 days after being a smoker for almost 40 years.

Anyhow, I have been losing my voice since I have started vaping. I was wondering if it could be the pg/vg ratio and/or nic level. I have been vaping 70pg/30vg with a nic level of 24mg. I was a pack a day smoker and I never had a problem with losing my voice.

Any suggestions?

Do you mean you are getting hoarse? That's the entirely normal not-enough-water sign. eliquid uses humectants (water attractors) -- the vapor uyou see if mainly water, pulled out of the air in your mouth and lungs.
I keep a bottle of water near me most of the time now, no hoarseness. (Except in the car, where the water is a block of ice until Spring...)

I totally lost my voice when I was vaping Atomic Cinnacide from Tasty Vapor. It's a very cinnamon-y flavor, like one of those hot cinnamon bomb candies.

SO DELICIOUS that I went ahead and vaped it for an additional week even though I had become basically mute, it was worth it for a while but I finally had to go back to other flavors so that I could speak again.

I did notice that when I was losing my voice from it the voice loss started in the high ranges of my voice and slowly worked it's way down to the low ranges. I think it was paralyzing my vocal cords, but when I quit using that flavor I got my voice back pretty quickly. I haven't had the same thing happen with any other flavor.

Is this what you are experiencing?

edit: LOL! It was especially funny in the middle of my voice loss progression because I could only speak using a fake, low "man voice". Hahahahaha! I had a good time, I should do that again. :)

Yes!!

The problem is I work as an optician and I am not allowed to have any beverages on the floor when I am working. I do chew gum, which helps some, but it's not enough. I'm glad (sort of) that it is a common thing. I was beginning to think I was allergic to the pg.

Thank you and sending warm weather thoughts to you from Virginia Beach. :)

No, nothing with cinnamon. It's a cappucino/caramel blend that I purchased from the same place where I ordered my 510 mega starter kit.

And yes, it is the higher range that is horsey!!

I'm not giving up vaping, so I guess I'll have to use my "man voice" for awhile. LOL

I just placed an order with Vapor Vixen (using 40% off coupon)with a lower pg and nic level and extra flavor. I read less pg, less flavor. I'll see if that helps a little.

Thanks for the reply. :)

Before vaping I quit smoking for a few months and lost my voice until I began smoking again. According to the doctor the muscles in my vocal cord weren't closing properly allowing air to flow incorrectly. Soon after going back to cigs it came back. It didn't happen when I started vaping but I figured it was because the muscles were being used. I still don't have the high notes but at least I know it's not caused by vaping but instead by not using the muscles to draw in the smoke like I did for so MANY years. I wonder if there are vocal exercises you could do to help??

I just ordered 50/50 at 18mg nic from Vixen Vapors and I hope that helps. Unfortunately (or not) I have orders in transit from VaporBomb and Backwoods Brew at the 70pg/30vg blend with 24 mg nic. If the 50/50 blend with lower nic helps, I'll just alternate until the higher blends are gone or try mixing them with a little vg.

Thanks for the recommendations and I'll be sure to try those flavors out. :)
