just starting out with vaping. smoked for over 15 years 1-2 packs a day. Now ready to quit analogs, and eventually quit nicotine all together. I've "quit" smoking several times in the past, anywhere from 1 month to 9 months, but always came back.

I purchased a halo g6 starter kit with Tribeca e-liquid (medium), a tobacco tasting kit (medium), menthol e-liquid (no nicotine), extra blank cartomizers and a clear tank. I figure starting with medium nicotine levels, to transition from analogs, then switching to low nicotine, and then no nicotine all together. Thanks to all users for all the excellent info, and goodbye to the hacking cough and stinky clothes!

Hey, kj2013, good for you! Sounds like you're getting a good start. Most would suggest that you not start out real low regarding nic levels, since you did smoke quite a bit for years. If you're still having serious cravings, go to a higher nic level. Keep us informed about your progress!! Good luck!

Hello and welcome to ecf.

I agree with freeatlast!. The first objective is to keep those nic cravings away. Once you can do that then it is better to taper down the nic slowly until you are ready for zero nic. For most people this takes time. Depending on how long and how much you smoked will determine the rate you can effortlessly cut down. Not everyone can pick up an ecig and put down the stinkies just like that, but some can. Once I realized I didn't need the cigs to satisfy my cravings, I was a total vaper. Easy for some, not so easy for others.

Don't be hard on yourself either. Smoking encompasses so many habits, it is nice that you aren't really giving any of those up immediately like you do with other harm reduction products.

Let us know how it goes for you. And ask as many questions as you need or want to. Members here have been where you are and are very willing to help out.

Welcome to the forums !!! Good luck on the switch to vapor. I personally do not much like the tobacco flavors that I have tried. What helped me stay off analogs was finding completely different flavors that did not remind me of tobacco. Finding the juice you enjoy is the key to staying away from analogs.

Welcome KJ...I also agree with what others have posted, the nic level you have ordered may leave you feeling cravings or vapeing non stop, better to start with a higher level and slowly drop down. I started at 36mg almost 4 months ago and have just now hit the 12mg level. I also found that as much as I thought I needed tobacco flavors I did not want to touch them after about 3 days. My favorites now are bakery, teas, coffees, custards, multi layer fruits and candies (teas, coffees and chocolate vapes appear to be difficult ones to find done well),

Good Luck and Welcome
